Min Yoongi, do what I tell you and everything will be fine.

Things were going just as planned.

The dark fairies had fought hard, trying to use everything at their disposal to break their will and confuse them. But they had persevered. It had not been easy to hear the voices, the screams of his companions for help, and not go looking for him. But it had been a wise decision to stick to the plan, for those voices were nothing more than the dark fairies doing their thing, luring them to certain death.

With each area that they cleared of the presence of the dark fairies, their spirits rose, and they had a few minutes of rest to catch their breath. The fairies in charge of cleaning the contaminated areas reinforced their protection, thus increasing the chances of survival. The weaker dark fairies, those commonly known as shadows, were long gone, but there were still some, the strongest and most resistant, who were reluctant to give up. They were few, and they had the upper hand. It was a matter of time before they ended up falling with their companions.

Everything was going well until it stopped being like that.

Jungkook did not know what exactly had happened, but suddenly his gem saturated with the voices of his companions, who fell silent seconds later as if he had imagined everything. Between that, and the feeling of terror that shot through his body with every scream he heard, Jungkook was certain that Lee was responsible. He hadn't made his presence known during the entire battle, probably letting his minions take care of them and pave the way for him before setting foot on the battlefield. Or maybe he intervened because he saw that his victory was much further away than he thought.

Jungkook followed his instincts and moved through the trees. As he ran, he tried to contact anyone who could hear him, but the other end only returned silence, sometimes distorted voices that he couldn't understand, but that he knew belonged to the guardians of the tree. I just prayed they weren't counting losses but wounded, that the absence of voices meant they were unconscious and not dead.

But that concern soon took a back seat in his mind when he heard Hana's scream. The two were in the same area, although in different sections. In the time they had been fighting, Jungkook had never heard her scream like that, and a chill ran through her body at the thought of the worst.
