Chapter - 6

Until that time came, Jungkook would have to learn to be patient and let things happen at his own pace.

Jungkook was 14 when he learned that all stories have at least two versions: the real one, which stayed true to the facts; and the invented one, the one that used the imagination to hide the truth.

It was two years since he had gotten his gem. It had been two years since his life had changed, although he did not know it. After that conversation with her mother and Hana, he had heard nothing on the subject since. If he was honest, his first thought was that they didn't want to tell him anything, that they didn't want him to get involved. But that was only one part of his mind, the other kept repeating that if they didn't tell him anything, it was because there was nothing to tell. Furthermore, Hana had told them it would take time and that she would not speak to them until she had answers to the most important questions.

It was frustrating, but at least he could forget about the problem when he was in class. It's not like you wake up every morning grinning from ear to ear, waiting for class time to spend the day with your nose between your books. Nothing is further from reality. The only subjects he really liked were drawing and music. Even when he didn't have those classes, he spent most of his time in one room, sitting next to the window, drawing whatever caught his attention or what came to mind.

To say that it excited his drawing teacher was an understatement. She kept saying he was talented, that with practice he would soon out-dexter even those in their senior years. And even though it was really cool to be praised like that, he didn't see himself as that special. He was just good at drawing, and although he had long since left behind the typical drawings of a seven-year-old boy, he still had a long way to go.

Today was a special day, or so the teachers said the day before. Expert historians and gemologists were going to give them a talk about the origin of gems and their use, as well as their properties. The goal was for them to have extensive knowledge about soulmates. As an incentive to what they knew would bore for many, people who had found their other half would also attend to share their experience.

Normally, these types of talks were given a year before, right at the beginning of the course. Since the gems were obtained between the ages of twelve and thirteen, the institutes agreed to delay it a year to ensure that everyone who attended already had their gems.

In his class, they were excited, even Jungkook, who had been waiting two years to hear the story. From his position by the window, he could see the entrance to the institute. There was a group of adult people talking to each other. Since two of them were wearing dress shirts and pants, Jungkook assumed that it was the men who were going to make the presentation, with the rest of the people who would talk about their experience finding their soul mate. Moments after the class bell rang, Mrs Park entered the classroom as the principal joined the group at the entrance.

"Good morning, guys." The teacher put an orange folder on the desk. The students sat in silence and looked at the folder as if it had done them some damage. "Come on, come on, you guys are going to spontaneously burn it. It's just a quiz."

A collective groan filled the room, some even resting their heads in torture. Mrs Park just smiled.

"Come on now, don't be so complaining, it's just a role!" He said as he shook it in the air. "Besides, just for answering all the questions, I assure you of passing. If you put in a little effort, I may give you a ten."

"What is the questionnaire about?" One of her companions asked.

"About the talk that we are going to hear in a few minutes. Most of the questions are to see if you have understood what you have been taught, like any other exam. The last two are questions about your opinion about the testimonies of various couples As you can see, it's not that difficult. "
