Far from feeling disturbed, Yoongi felt protected and safe.

The following week was somewhat chaotic. Not because something bad happened, but because Yoongi barely had time to scratch his nose. His boss had given him that week off at the express prescription of his doctor, so the stress was non-existent, but he always had something to do and to keep busy. His apartment, for example.

The night before he had slept like a baby, with no worries clouding his dreams, so he woke up the next morning full of energy. He woke up at the time he normally woke up to go to work, so he met Namjoon at breakfast time. Jin appeared shortly after joining them. They were both pleasantly surprised by the energy Yoongi gave off, but the smile fell from their faces when he told them what he was planning to do.

"I don't think it's adequate." Jin had said.

"It may not be adequate, but it is necessary." Yoongi immediately replied.

Jin rolled his eyes. "I know it's necessary, but does it have to be precisely today? I mean, until yesterday you were in the hospital and the doctor told you that you should take it easy. I don't think going back to your apartment to clean is synonymous with taking it easy."

"I have to take advantage now that I have this week off." He said after taking a sip of his coffee.

"This week is supposed to rest and not to clean up the mess from the shadows."

"Hyung, you know how much I like to stay home and do practically nothing apart from composing. The problem is that all my equipment is shredded, mush, useless."

"You could use mine, Hyung, I don't care." Namjoon offered as he continued with his breakfast.

"That is not all. I have to... I need to clean my apartment, fix the damage and buy new things, and I need to do it as soon as possible."

"Is it because of us?" Jin asked uncertainly.

"What?"

"You don't need to do this for us. You can stay as long as you need. You're not a bother, you know that."

"I... I hadn't thought of that, Hyung. I am very grateful for everything you have done for me, but I need my own space, just like you, as a couple, need yours. I just don't want to have to drag this out. The longer it takes to fix everything, the more it will cost me to start."

"I know what you mean," Jin said after a few moments of silence, "but I can't help but think that something might happen to you by setting foot in that spot again."

"The shadows are gone, Hyung." Namjoon reminded Jin. "Besides, they only showed up at night, and Yoongi Hyung will not be cleaning up this late." The pink-haired rapper reasoned.

"Are you going to side with him?"

"I think he's right about getting rid of it as soon as possible. You know, like when you take off a piece of tape quickly so it hurts less. Besides, he will have to do it at some point, he won't live here forever." The young man argued. "Not that I'm complaining, Yoongi Hyung." The rapper was quick to clarify, to which he simply nodded.

After a long sigh, Jin gave up, not before making sure that Yoongi promised him he wouldn't overdo it and that he was going to take whatever breaks were necessary to avoid a relapse.

Once they finished eating breakfast and changed their pyjamas, each went their own way: Jin got in his car to go to the restaurant, and Yoongi and Namjoon shared part of the journey until Yoongi got off at his stop.

The walk home was fairly quiet, as it was still quite early and there were few people on the street. The frosty morning air gently caressed his face and his breath condensed in front of him like vapour from an electronic cigarette. Luckily, the rest of his body was warm under the fabric of his clothes, courtesy of Jin.
