But he couldn't, because seconds later, his world rocked and plunged into darkness.

After his gem connected with Jungkook's, his world was plunged into darkness. His body ended up giving in to the stress, both physical and emotional, to which it had been subjected.

Ironically, the only good thing that had happened to him all day was meeting Jungkook. Well, rather, that their gems connect. When Namjoon told him that all these weird behaviours he had showed that he was close to meeting his soul mate, he never thought it would be so soon or that he would be so close. Close enough to be Jimin's best friend. He did not want to think about the consequences that this entailed. His friends knew that the subject of soulmates was something he did not like, although not everyone knew the real reason. Only Jin and Namjoon knew about it, but the others believed it had to do with what happened to Jun.

To make matters worse, everyone was aware of Yoongi's intentions when he met his soulmate. They obviously respected his decision, but that didn't mean they agreed. Of all of them, Jimin was the one who most disagreed to reject his soul mate. He understood Yoongi's apprehension, but for him, it was not an excuse enough to reject his other half right off the bat, without even knowing him. They never got to fight over it, but each one showed their position on it.

Taehyung told him once that when Jimin was younger when he was still in high school, he had had an experience that had left him marked; an experience that had to do with soul mates. Taehyung never specified what the problem had been. He had said that it was up to Jimin and not him, something that Yoongi understood perfectly.

Now that Jungkook had turned out to be his soul mate, it was going to be practically impossible to reject him; Jimin would make sure he didn't, that was clear. But it was also clear that Yoongi was stubborn as a mule. He was going to reject Jungkook, even if it unleashed Jimin's fury. The gems connected them and they decided, right? Well, he already had his decision made.

Jimin might at first get pissed off and ignore him, or blow his face, but in time both he and Jungkook would see that it was the best decision. The boy didn't need to get involved with a troubled person like him, and Yoongi didn't want to risk testing his heart a second time and ending up putting the pieces back together.
