"I hear you think from here, human."

The thin voice made Jungkook open his eyes. There was no one in sight. He looked towards the pond, hoping to find a fairy looking at him from her flower, for only a voice with that sharp tone could belong to one of them. But they were all asleep.

"Up here, idiot."

In one of the lower branches of the tree, just above Jungkook, was the fairy who had spoken to him. Jungkook did not know her name, nor the others; They said that it was very difficult for humans to understand their dialect, so no human knew their name, except Hana, who apparently understood them.

"I see that the nap has not done you any good," Jungkook said with a frown. The fairy just rolled her eyes.

All fairies were just as they were painted in pictures and described in books; beautiful beings, with a delicate appearance, wanting to do mischief and that easily fit in the palm. They had unique personalities and unique characteristics that made them unique, but they all shared that beauty. The fairy in front of his eyes was no exception, not even when he acted as if everything bothered him.

"You have woken me up from my wonderful and precious nap." The fairy said, narrowing her eyes.

"I wasn't even making noise." said the boy, frowning.

"Of course you were," she replied as she flew down from the tree and stood right in front of him, her pale blue wings gleaming with movement, "you couldn't stop talking."

"I wasn't talking, I was thinking, it's different."

"With the intensity with which you did it, it's the same to me," she said as she crossed his arms. "We have already told you that thoughts are powerful. That is why humans need not know our names, just thinking about us is enough to call us."

"But I wasn't calling you," Jungkook said, confused.

"I already know that. But the others have their asses too big to move, so I had no choice but to intervene." He said in an exasperated tone.

"Oh well, I'm sorry. I'll try to think less intensely." His tone had been plaintive even to his own ears.

In front of him, the fairy perched on his lap and then sat cross-legged and arms pulled back for support.

"I assure you I will let you sleep peacefully."

"There is something that worries you, so you are going to keep thinking about it. It is better if you take it out, you will feel better."

After a few minutes, Jungkook told the fairy everything. At least that way he could get rid of everything that bothered him. Having finished speaking, he waited patiently for the fairy to give her opinion.

"I know what the problem is. But I don't know whether to tell you softly or directly." said the fairy while touching her chin with a finger.

"Whatever you prefer."

"You are an idiot. In fact, you are an idiot who gets his head eaten over nonsense."

"I don't think it's nonsense. I wanted to do the right thing, and I ended up screwing everything up."

After a moment of silence, the fairy spoke again.

"When I was younger, almost a baby, and long before I was taking care of this offspring, I saw how one of our caretakers, as you humans call him, beat a companion. She was weak and could hardly do her chores, but that idiot didn't care. I did what was right and said nothing.

"What? Jungkook was going to continue, but the fairy raised her hand to let her finish.

"In the other tree, things worked differently than they do here. There had never been a complaint of that type and we, the ones in charge of bringing the nutrients, had neither voice nor vote. Despite having done what Right, I felt terrible. It was unfair that they treated us that way, so I plucked up my courage and told the truth."

"And what happened?"

"It was an impressive mess, really. Not only had he told the truth, but he had also said what he thought of each one of them openly, so they all shouted to heaven. Each one showed their true colours and higher-ups changed things for the better. I don't know how things are out there now because years ago they sent me and a few others to take care of this little boy, but I hope they are well."

"So that's why you always say what comes to mind, right?" Jungkook asked with a half-smile.

"Of course not, I think before I speak, not as someone I know." She said as she looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "But seriously, you shouldn't be beating yourself over what happened today. What you did was the right thing to do. That guy was probably still in shock from the whole situation and sure your friend was the same. Usually, you stay in a second. Flat, you refuse to be the centre of attention. I would be surprised too, I would have liked to see it. It would be like watching a movie." The fairy said between giggles.

"It would be like watching a soap opera," Jungkook replied with a snort.

"Yes, but one of the good ones. The handsome boy ends up being rescued from the clutches of the asshole on duty and they leave him composed and no girlfriend."

"I don't know if the girl thinks the same too."

"Oh, come on, of course, I do. No one, male or female, wants to have someone who only thinks of himself by his side. It is good to have self-esteem, but excess is counterproductive."

And with that, the fairy flew up to his shoulder and curled into a little ball. After talking to her, Jungkook felt lighter. What the fairy had told him made sense, in fact, he was probably right about everything, but he was so wrapped up in his own conclusions that he didn't stop to think about the other possibilities. Now it only remained to explain to Yoonseul and Jimin why he had reacted like this and hope they understood.

"Hey, Jungkook." Said the fairy between a yawn. He made a sound in response. "Remember that destiny will take you to your soul mate. You cannot change how, where or the circumstances of your meeting, because it is already written. The only thing you can change is the ending. Fate has multiple endings for each story, but it all depends on your decisions. So even if you don't own your destiny, you own your decisions. "

"I'll keep that in mind, thank you." He replied in a low voice.

"You better." She murmured, about to fall asleep.

What Jungkook wanted to do the most now was go talk to his friends, but it would be rude to wake the fairy again. So he spent the time reflecting on what he had said, realizing that he had really been an idiot, although he would never say that to the fairy, for he would surely begin to brag about it.

He did not understand what time it was because he had his cell phone in his backpack, but he was already getting hungry, although his stomach had made no noise yet. As if listening to him, the fairy on his shoulder stretched like a cat after a nap in the sun and smiled at him sleepily.

"You're a great mattress for a nap. Too bad you're an idiot." Said the fairy between yawns.

"Can't you say a compliment to an insult?" Jungkook asked, amused and resigned.

"One of lime and one of sand." She replied with a victorious smile.

Jungkook snorted in amusement at the fairy's reply. The way she spoke, she seemed more human than fairy, though it was probably because she was older than Jungkook could imagine, long enough to learn the way humans relate.

With one less weight on his body, Jungkook went home. There, in front of the entrance, Yoonseul was waiting for him, accompanied by Jimin. They hadn't seen him yet, which allowed him to observe them from afar. They were talking amongst themselves, Jimin nodding from time to time to something the girl was telling him. When Yoonseul saw him, he stopped talking and got up quickly to run over to him. Just when Jungkook was about to apologize, the girl jumped on him and hugged him tightly while telling him how stupid he had been for leaving like that.

"You are not the first to tell me that today." Jungkook had answered when the young woman let him breathe.
