Chapter - 15

It was just a see you later, a promise to see each other again soon.

In the months that followed, Jungkook learned that for some things, you have to wait, but for others, you have to be the one to take the first step. There is a reason for the saying that he who wants something, something costs him. So after several motivational talks from his mother and Yoonseul, Jungkook loosened up more, allowing others to get to know a little more about that boy who was always drawing. Their experiences were like everyone else's: a matter of trial and error, of making mistakes and getting up after falling.

Apart from Yoonseul and Jimin, few were those that he could consider as friends, at least not on the same level as them. Their contact list had grown considerably, from the perfect people to study to the best group for an outing. All of this allowed him to see things differently and to experience many others in an unfamiliar environment.

But perhaps the most remarkable thing of all was the realization that no matter how much you found your other half, perhaps this was not what you expected, not in terms of interests or personality, no, but in terms of sexual identity. What if you were straight and your other half was gay? Of course, if you wanted just a friendship, that was fine, but what if you wanted something else? After connecting and getting to know each other, would that connection be powerful enough that you forget your preferences? Would you be willing to love that person regardless of their gender?

Jungkook had no answer to these questions, and probably no one did. It all depended on the person. But that didn't stop Jungkook from considering it. It was depressing to think that one day they would reject you for being the wrong sex.

After knowing that not everything was so well defined, that the possibilities were many and that he did not know what fate held for him, still, he wanted to find his soul mate. Feel that sense of fulfilment when finding something that you have been looking for so long, share your being with that other person, as if you have known them all your life, walk side by side, each one being their own person, but together something much greater.

But until that time came, he would have to walk his own path until they crossed paths. Jungkook could wait. He knew his soul mate was worth waiting for.
