The young man did not know what was happening to him or how to explain it.

After calling Jin, time seemed to slow down, and Yoongi did not doubt that it had stopped for the simple fact of lengthening his suffering. He kept clinging to his gem as if his life depended on it, and in a sense it was. He didn't even give in when the shadows tried to trick him.

They had gone from the kitchen to his room, smashing everything in their path. His closet, his desk, his computer, everything that could be broken, they broke it, and then they told him. They repeated it repeatedly, all the things, it destroyed them; for them, it was a threat of what was about to happen to him, for him it was a reminder not to let go of his gem.

The shadows realized pretty quickly that nothing they were doing was affecting him, at least not in the way they expected. So they decided that if they couldn't get in, then they would make him come out.

It was difficult. The hardest thing Yoongi had ever done in his entire life. He had to ignore the prayers of his friends to save them and the accusations of the rest when he did not. Of course, he knew it was all a hoax, a trick of the shadows. But it was so real that it hurt physically. If that woman hadn't warned him about it, Min Yoongi would have been, without a doubt, the dinner of all those creatures.

Between sobs, he kept clinging to the gem, praying that this hell would end, hoping he could survive to see tomorrow and remember it as just another nightmare. He wasn't sure how long it had been since they started their last torture, but suddenly everything stopped. There were no voices, no laughter, no objects breaking.

There was only silence.

The calm after the storm.

From his position on the floor, sitting with his back to the tub and his legs drawn up to his chest, Yoongi looked up and stared at the door for a sign that the shadows were still there.

Finding none, he leaned on the edge of the tub to get up, trying to make as little noise as possible. His hand clenched around the gem, just in case. He wiped the tears on his shirt and then took a deep breath to calm his nerves.

The sound of a door opening made her body tense.

"Hyung?" It was Taehyung. "Hyung, where are you?"

Yoongi didn't reply. He was afraid it was all a trick of the shadows. They had used the voices of their friends to fool him once, they might as well do it a second.

"Hyung, he's not here." A voice that Yoongi did not recognize spoke. It had a certain resemblance to Jin's voice, but it was thinner, almost like a whisper. It was definitely a voice he hadn't heard before.

"Are you sure, Jungkook?" Oh, Jungkook. Jimin's friend. He too had been drawn into this situation.

"I'm sure. It can't be in there. Have you looked there? "

Yoongi suspected he was referring to the bathroom. It's not like your house is that big.

"Hyung, are you there?" Taehyung tried to open the door, but it was still locked. "Hyung, it's me, Taehyung, your favourite Dongsaeng, your lost brother. You're already safe. I promise you that the aliens will not appear again, I have taught them a moral lesson."

Without his permission, a smile formed on his lips. Only Taehyung could talk about aliens as if it were the most normal thing in the world in a situation like this.

"Hyung, what are you talking about?"

"Hush, Jungkookie, I'm talking about older things with Yoongi Hyung."

"You're raving Hyung."

"Do you believe?"

"Yes."

"Yes, maybe you're right."

Yoongi didn't need to hear anymore. The Taehyung on the other side was the real Taehyung, the one who said more nonsense than usual at the most inopportune times or when he was nervous. Without saying a word, Yoongi unlocked the door, silencing the two boys.

When he finally opened the door, the first thing he saw was Taehyung's worried face, who scanned him up and down as he held out his hand for Yoongi to hold on to, asking if he was okay. It must have shown in his face how weak he was to stand on his own, but he assured him he was fine, anyway. In his peripheral vision, Yoongi saw the other boy who had come with Taehyung. Jungkook, Jimin's friend. What a way to make a good impression. He did not understand how to fix it, but the first thing was to start by introducing himself, so he turned to the boy.

At that moment, his world completely changed.

His gem, like Jungkook's, began to glow brightly, even hanging in the air a couple of centimetres. Just then the rest arrived, scolding Taehyung for his behaviour. They immediately fell silent when they realized what was happening.

Of course, Yoongi was aware of what was happening around him, but his attention was really focused on Jungkook and the sensations he was experiencing. At first, he felt a strong electric shock that ran through his entire body from top to bottom, a sensation of heat soon replaced which, as if lava were running through his veins instead of blood. He felt like he was levitating, although that was impossible because Taehyung was still holding his hand.

When he looked at Jungkook, his eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly open, staring at his gem in wonder. Yoongi was also in awe of Jungkook's gem because it gave off the same colours that he had seen in his dreams: purple and gold. At that moment Yoongi realized that this boy, who shone with the same light that had saved him, was his soul mate.

He didn't know him; he knew nothing about him other than what Jimin had told them. But just by looking into his eyes, he knew he was doomed. Those eyes conveyed innocence and maturity conveyed joy, passion and life. It was beautiful and perfect. And Yoongi wanted to protect him with all his might. He would protect him from himself.

The glow of the gems diminished to a soft glow, which then completely faded as they touched the bodies of their respective bearers. Only then did Yoongi realize how fast his heart was beating and how rough his breathing was. With some difficulty, Yoongi focused his gaze on the young man, who was looking at him with some concern.

"Your..."

You are beautiful.

You are perfect.

But you are doomed.

Because I am surrounded by darkness.

All those things and many more were what Yoongi wanted to say to the young man. He wanted to warn him it was better for him to go on his way without expecting it. But he couldn't, because seconds later, his world rocked and plunged into darkness.
