"How about you, Malak, how was your holiday?" Alicia Spinnet asked Malak.
The group of friends was sitting at the Gryffindor common room, catching up. They had all shared the anecdotes and explained how their vacations were spent and now it was Malak's turn. She smiled warmly at memory, and she blushed slightly.
"How was Egypt? Any crazy Sphinxes or other magical creatures?" Lee Jordan wanted to know.
"Actually, there was a lot of dragons involved in my holidays..." she shyly started.
"Wicked!" both twins grinned. "You must tell Charlie" George suggested, in an insinuating manner, nudging her and arching his eyebrow repeatedly, making Malak giggle.
"I-I..."
"Don't be shy, Malak, he likes you too" Katie assured her. "It was so sweet of him to come in your birthday."
"Yes Malak, I think so too" Alicia confirmed encouragingly.
The Egyptian witch took a deep breath in. They are my friends, I have to tell them.
"Iwasactuallywithhim" she managed to blurt out, her cheeks now burning.
Her friends' eyes widened; their mouths fell to the floor. Angelina Johnson was about to die of excitement.
"So the two of you... alone? In Egypt?" she asked.
Malak suddenly realized what her friends were thinking; her eyes widened, dangerously close to pop out of their sockets.
"NO! Nonono, I went to Romania to have dinner with him and his friends. And Bill." The Egyptian quickly explained, "he made fun of me because I didn't know anything about Christmas, and then invited me to teach me."
"Our own brother! — He didn't bother to invite us, I tell you that" Fred spoke, offended.
"I'll reprimand him on your behalf, Freddie" joked Malak.
"Please do! I'm deeply offended. I also wanted to see dragons, you know?"
"You guys didn't go before?" Malak furrowed, actually surprised. How did he invite me and not his own brothers?
"No!" George shouted "the bastard never invited us!"
"We are not a cute Egyptian witch he fancies, Forge" his twin explained.
"He doesn't fancy me" Malak was too quick to confirm; the crimson red of her cheeks now expanding to the tip of her ears.
"No, of course, he wanted to teach you about Christmas!" Lee Jordan laughed, mocking her.
"Well, yes!" Malak nodded.
"And what did you learn then?" the boy inquired, causing her to go mute.
In all honestly, nothing, Lee. But she was not going to admit that.
"Don't be so naïve, Malaki!" Angie spoke "the guy is head over heels for you!"
