"You lost the right to talk to me one year ago."

Laura's POV

'It's colder than I thought' I thought as I crossed my arms in front of my chest and continued walking.

Thank god the party was just a couple of blocks away from my house so that I could reach it in a matter of 15 minutes by feet.

Why would Ross get in a fight with Alec ? I mean yes, I know that Ross his ex-girlfriend cheated on him with Alec but they wouldn't fight over that now, would they ?

I sighed as I tightened my grip on the bag I was holding.

When I heard that Ross fought with Alec, I brought whatever I found could be used to treat wounds at home.

It's silly, isn't it ? Why am I even rushing to get there ? It's not like my presence is gonna change anything.

Another reason not to show up is that Alec will be there. Am I ready to face him ?

I should be, right ? I'm not as fragile as I used to me.

The house was slowly coming closer and I could hear the loud music.

Parties really aren't my cup of tea.

It's so loud.

I stepped into the house and looked around for familiar faces. I sighed and tiptoed while trying to look around.

"Laura ?"

Is this some kind of deja-vu ?

I slowly turned around, already knowing who it was.

"Alec."

Just after I looked on his face I realised that there were clear evidences of the fight. His face was swollen and red. He also had a black eye.

"Wow, I nearly couldn't recognize you.", I said sarcastically.

He rolled his eyes while putting an ice pack on his face again. "Can't believe I'm meeting you here like this. Has it been like a year ?"

"You should've spared me longer from seeing your face.", I muttered before nodding. "I guess so."

Fortunately, he doesn't seem to remember our encounter at the last party.

"How have you been doing ?"

"Better.", I said while crossing my arms.

Is he seriously trying to have small talk in the middle of the party with a face like that ?

"Now, if you excuse me..", I started before shaking my head, "Nevermind, I'll go either way.", I corrected before turning around, feeling a hand on my arm with which I held the bag.

I pressed my lips together and turned around, "Mind keeping your hands to yourself ?"

He smirked, "Why are you being like this ? Back when you were my girlf-"

I took my arm out of his grip slapped him with my other hand, "Stop.", making a few heads turn into our direction.

He held his cheek, looking at me startled.

"You lost the right to talk to me one year ago. Don't even dare and try to talk to me ever again."

"Stop living in the past.", he managed to say and I couldn't help but look at him, checking if I heard it right.

Stop living in the past ?

"I stopped living in the past the moment I realised you're not worth it. You never were.", I told him coldly.

Fortunately, he didn't try to stop me this time and I continued searching till I saw Jordan coming my direction, "That was good.", he said with a wide grin, "I'm so proud of you.", hugging me.

I hugged him back before pulling away and telling him truthfully, "I thought my heart was going to burst. I was so nervous.."

"You really moved on, Laura."

I looked at him, letting his words sink in.

I did, right ?

... And Ross played a really big part i-

Right, Ross.

"Where's Ross ?", I asked worried.

I mean, I've seen Alec's face and he did not look good at all. I mean he never did but that's off topic.

"I think he was in one of the rooms upstairs. I'll take you to him.", Jordan said.

"Is he badly hurt ?", I asked as we walked up the stairs.

"Not as bad as Alec, to be honest."

"Wait.", I stopped walking, "Why did they even fight ?"

Jordan looked at me and thought for a second before saying, "I don't really remember.. but I do remember your name being mentioned."

"My name ?", I said surprised, "Why would I even be mentioned.."

I sighed while running my hand through my hair and looking at the bag I had taken from home. "Whatever.. where exactly is he ?"

Jordan nodded before walking ahead and opening one of the doors.
