Memories

It was all a rush really, one thing led to another, gun shots and blood, red all over the place and that memory couldn't get out of jj's head. He loved her but she was always easily won over, her sweet soul was always used and she didn't care until it was her life on the end. Everywhere he went it reminded him of her beachy salty scent in the outerbanks, the bookstore that was right by the wreck where they would always get the same order since they both loved it so much, or when she would take jj's hand and hold it tightly to drag him into the bookstore, and afterwards he would watch her eyes light up with curiosity while she flipped through the pages of every book she read. 

that was his favorite part 

but after it was all a blur, in his mind he didn't care if he ended up dead. The royal merchant messed everything up for their future together. at first jj was all about the money but he loved her than himself. He made a promise not to become his dad or ever let her get hurt 

his one mission, his one goal in life, he failed at it.

it started getting worse and worse as time went by 

 that day:

y/n pulled her shirt over her head and dived into the cool water 

"what was that about" john b questions 

"i do not know but i liked it... alot" 

jj smirks 

john b and pope make a disgusted face 

"stop guys hes finally happy with her"

jj dozes off while they talk about the cute couple 

the memories were vivid like they were just yesterday 

he pops her head out and coughs up some water

"i'm good i'm good" she says while getting on the boat 

"but you won't believe what happened"

"what happened" the crew says 

she smirks and holds up the motel key 

jj snatches it 

"hey i found it bitch" 

y/n scolds her short legs trying to reach the key where jj's teasing figure dangles it at the tip of his finger tips 

"hey guys there is somebody here" 

kie announces 

they all turn their heads 

anchors pulled up engines starting. it was a near death expierence like how they usually have it but with guns 

bang 

one shot flies through and jj takes y/n down with him

kie has the brains to throw the fishing net in the water

"KIE" y/n screeches out in agony as y/n lifts herself off the ground and takes the bullet it hitting her in the chest 

"y/n" jj shouts 

panick voices talk over each other while jj bawls his eyes out blood covering his hands while he hugs her 

"jj jj look at me" y/n whispers 

he shakes his head hugging her tightly 

"i love you so much" he nods his head 

"i love you" he croaks putting his head in the crook of her neck rocking back and forth 

present time 

after that he wasn't the normal jj he used to be 

if jj was having a bad day she would help him through it if it was throwing herself fully cloathed in the water or bear hugging him to the point where he can't breathe on their shared beds. 

now his side was freezing cold, no more warmth of her presence beside him 

even after you would think he would get wasted and hook up with random girls just despite his lost because she was his anchor the one thing keeping him sane, well almost
