I was a kook of course the one where she wouldn't care about anyone or anything but  thats not true one time I was on the beach you know walking trying to clear my head
And that's when I saw him jj maybank surfing alone without his friends it wasn't a rare occurrence when you would see the pogues separated but today this exact night is when I saw him surfing although he wasn't surfing he was just sitting there staring off into the starry night sky
I stand there watching him
"JJ"
I shout in confusion
He turns around and paddles back to shore
"Hey what are you doing here"
I catch up to him
"Uh just thinking"
He responded blankly
Until I get a clear look on his face
"What the hell"
I say grabbing his face gently
He turns to me tears threatening to spill
I cup his face
"What happened"
I ask softly
"Like you care"
He utters
"I do"
I say defending myself
"Can I come with you"
He whispers finally gazing at me
I nod grabbing his arm
We walk in silence as we arrive at my
house
I hesitate
"Something wrong"
He asks bluntly
I turn to him glaring at him
"I snuck out"
I half whisper yell
"So"
He says dumbfounded
"I- nevermind"
I huff
I open the door when It creaks
I curse to myself
We quietly walk upstairs
And Into the bathroom where jj sits on the counter
I bend down towards the cabinet finding a kit and I pop it open
Starting with his cuts I lean on my tippy toes
And run the cotton swab with peroxide
To clean the deep cuts thay won't get Infected
I sigh while finishing the last cut
I throw the swab in the trash
And turn to him
"Thanks"
He murmurs
"You know you can stay here"
I look up at him
He makes eye contact with me
"Look I know were on different sides of the island but I"
Stopping myself for saying the I care about you line I find something else to say
"I just want to make sure your safe"
I breathe
He nods and gets off the counter
"There is a change of clothes in my room if you want to take a shower you can"
He nods and I close the door behind me
Making a pizza in the oven i start to doze off
Till I hear footsteps come down the staircase
"What are you making"
He chirps
I snap back to reality
And take the ready pizza out of the oven
"Pizza"
I reply groggy
"You sound tired"
I hum in response
"Go upstairs I will bring it up to you"
I nod and drag my feet up to my room plopping on the bed
Later jj comes in
"Y/n"
He whispers
"Hhhhhm"
I sit up in my bra when I changed
"The pizza was yours"
I slur sleepily
"Where do I sleep"
"Here silly"
I pat a spot right next to me
"
He gets in and I turn my back from him
I mumble something he couldn't hear
Granted he was also tired but his mind would come up with the worse scenarios of the pogues found out he was with her all night? Or will his dad try to track him? Or what if her parents find me thinking I slept with? And out if all things why was she being so damn nice? Time will tell i guess

So jj did what he does best and wraps his arms around her lower back bringing her closer to his chest
She turns around breathing in and out of her nose she nuzzle her head into the crook of jjs neck and this is the part where jj maybank finally realizes that not kooks are all bad after all
