Next Level

Being new in a new county, a new city, a new town is horrible I tell you.

Moving to the outerbanks wasn't that bad, I love the beach and surfing. Everything here seems good news to me, except for my mom telling me to go to this restaurant and order onion rings for her and my step dad who is a asshole may I say.

Walking in the bell rings and a girl and blonde boy look my way,
"Hi excuse me can I order 2 cheeseburgers and onion rings please"
I hold my breath to see of they will just go behind the counter already

"Yeah uh, DAD"
She calls out

I release a breath i was holding and look down towards my shoes.
"Whats your name"
The blonde ask

"Y/n"
He nods

"I'm jj"
He sticks his hand out

The girl comes back in
"Your food will take awhile but would you like anything to drink?"

"A water please"
I smile

She nods and goes into the back room

"Did you just move" jj asks

I nod my ponytail bobbing up and down
He smiles

"Well if you need anything I'm here"
He squint his eyes pointing at me

I laugh "yeah of course"

A group of girls walk in looking at jj look he was their next meal

"Heyyyyyy jjjj"

Jj rolls his eyes

"Help me"
He says

I look at him with wide eyes pointing at myself looking behind me

"Yes" he hisses

I close my eyes trying to find a story line
"OK I got this"
I whisper

The group of girls look to me then to him

"H-hi"
Jj says

I slap jj in the face

"How could you"
I whisper
Jj holds his face and rubs in

"So you go off at night after what we did together.. OUR MOMENT and you just leave"
I sniffle

He looks at me with wide eyes

I kick him in his leg

"Yeah I did because..... I don't love you anymore"

I gasp and slap him again

"Ow"
He murmurs

"FUCK YOU"
I shout and stomp dramatically tears streaming down my face
Jj chases after me
"Y/N Wait"
He reaches for me after I got out of the door

I laugh when he pulls me to his chest

He turns me around

And I put my face in his chest laughing

"You fucking scared me"
He whispers

"Y-your face"

"YOU SLAPPED ME"
he protests 

"That was the point"
I say breathless after dying down

"Thank you even if that was dramatic"
He says smiling like crazy

"No problem but if you need me I'm right here"

It was his turn to laugh

"OKAY okay what about tonight?"

"I'll be there"
I say
He smiles his toothy grin

"Great"

The girl with dark brown hair comes out and hands me a bag full of food and my water

"Nice acting i like it i like it"
She praises

"I'm kie" she sticks out her hand

"Y/n" i smile back 

"oh and uh i me and pope are going out surfing tonight and john b will be with Sarah so you have the house to yourself got it, no messing it up" she scolds at him before turning to me and giving me a dashing smile 

"have a great day and nice to meet you y/n"

"you too"

it was the time where she would hang out with the guy she just moved with and slapped all in one day. 

"sooo question" jj groans getting into the hammock while y/n gets in on the other side laying down by jj's feet. 

"grosss"
she fake barfs 

"my feet are stunning" jj says confidently making y/n burst out laughing 

"your question jj?" 

"oh right have you ever smoked"
"all the time" i reply 

jj smiles as his reply 

he pulls out his lighter and rolls a blunt 

he takes a puff inhaling and exhaling leaning over and handing me it 

maybe about 40 minutes later, both of them were giggling like crazy while they went over the day of y/n slapping jj and scaring the girls 

"can i ask you a question?"

"question?" jj says 

"yep"i say popping the 'p' 

"let's say when we die you have three options, 1 would be to restart your life, a completely different one, different parents, a whole different life. or the second one would be to spectate others people's lives or your past one seeing your family, or the last one would be to go to the next level."

jj thinks hard for a second debating his choices that he has 

"uh restart" he says finally 

"you?"

"next level"

i respond 

"care to share?" i ask smirking at him although he has a serious face plastered on 

"i felt like i haven't lived long enough i'm afraid of dying it's a lot of shit to process but i didn't get the family i wanted and i know i'm not happy so f i can get a new life that's all i need"

"but what happens if the universe chooses something worse for you to endor"

" i don't think life can get much worse than this" he says 

"you? care to share" he smiles small  

"next level i want to get past the lies and excuses i'm not scared to jump in to the next level i want to see it and find out why its so special"

"you know it's not everyday you can choose your life"

"why do you think this stuff?" jj asks 

"i believe in it for some reason, truly i don't know what to believe anymore but it is what it is"

"you are a mystery y/n"

jj laughs

"come here i'm cold" jj shivers beside me

i scoot towards him plopping onto his chest he wraps an arm around me 

"we are going to be fucked tomorrow"

jj groans 

"let's mentally prepare ourselves" i muffle into his chest 

something driven them closer tonight ever than before, they could bond over reality for crying out loud without it affecting neither one of them.
