Idate probably wanted to suicide when he still attempt to escape however, Naruto lose his patience and put Idate into sleep. Even without his help, they can still both track where is the head of Wasabi Families' location.
When they meet Jirōchō, they brief them a bit and told them to win the tournament what ever it takes. Naruto simply nodded and take the mission in his young form. When Idate woke up, he engaged a lot of rant to Naruto but Naruto being adult in the body of child, simply disregard him like he was not existing.
"You know, Idate-san. You should stop complaining to him. He was just making you his entertainment. He took pleasure to listen to his targets rant and simply ignore them. Quiet childish," Hinata said to Idate.
"Wha-?" Idate's become so red in embarrassment. He just being informed that he become someone's entertainment.
The tournament started, and they encounter a group of Ame Nin. Naruto juar deal them immediately by putting a weight seal to their body and sink them into the lake. So Ame Nins died to drowning. After that, Naruto reveal to Idate that they know about what happen between him and Rokusho Aoi. Idate fearfully look to them but Naruto sigh and explain to Idate that it is not his fault. Then Idate started to open up and told them about his Chunin Exam experience and how Aoi trick him.
"Ibiki did the right thing to failed all of you," Naruto solemnly said while looking to the boat.
"What? Why? Ninja needs a courage to fullfill the mission by themselves!" Idate complained.
"You abandoned your teammates, Idate-san. It is the reason why you failed," Hinata added. Idate widen his eyes and look to the two as if he saw a ghost.
"Konohagakure ever since they are founded, they all values teamwork. Being a Chunin is not just having courage. It is how you lead your group and put them above your own interests, leading them to their own path, guiding you team with precise decision, and make sure that they are all well. When you said that one of your teammates decided to quit, you selfishly stay and didn't consider his feeling. Mission is not just about the success. It is a precise journey to make everyone safe as you do your mission," Naruto explained calmly.
"But Aoi said, I should only trust myself," Idate murmur.
"I don't know whether to laugh or cry," Hinata commented.
"And you listen to him. To Aoi who trick to to take the Swords of Thunder Spirits that considered to be a criminal?" Naruto ask. Idate look away shamefully. Right, why did he listen to a criminal? He already put him to a dangerous situation and yet he still listen to him?
"His words was partly true. But I prefer to the say to trust people who was worthy of your trust but still be cautious to other whom you don't know. It is to balance yourself to your social life and your personal space," Naruto said with a smile. With Naruto's lecture, Idate did realize the answer to Ibiki's question before.
This is really how to be a ninja.
He might lose his privileged to become one too in his hometown, he will live up to what Naruto and Hinata teach him.

When they reach the port, they met Aoi and engage a completely one sided battle favors to Hinata and Naruto. They teach Rokusho Aoi a lesson he will not forget. A tool can be powerful but will not be invincible in the eyes of true power.
He died tragically as Naruto hated Aoi to death. Why? He just used the prize possession of his brother to evil deeds. Whats laughable to his death is the Sword that he thought will make him invincible is the same tool that Naruto used after he put Idate to sleep and torture Aoi in the most painful way before he killed him.
Naruto burned the body. As Idate continue the race, Idate's determination lift up his eyes into fire. During the victory ceremony, Kyūroku tried to cheat the victory by lying that Idate was doing a violation, but the Daimyō caught Kyūroku and his minister for cheating. As a result, the minister had to become a monk and the Wagarashi family was disbanded.
Idate thank the two before they transform into creepy Kiroi and Samara. At first he was shock but then, Naruto told him to keep it as a secret. Idate smile and thank him for his trust.
While returning to the village, Kiroi and Samara was escorted by Ibiki himself. While he did not openly state this fact, Ibiki was glad that both of them had helped his brother grow as a man.

"So tired," Naruto said and completely occupied the couch in his office. His blood clone already finish the last batch of his paperworks so he was free to the rest of the day.
"You shouls not push yourself. Hinata didn't even felt exhausted after your two mission," Sasuke being a caring brother did use his chakra to make Naruto feel relax.
"I'm okay," Naruto simply said.
"If you say so," Sasuke reply. While Sasuke is organizing his work in Naruto's office, a Violet-Purple portal appeared in the middle of his office. The ANBU wanted to dash in the place and protect the Hokage but Sasuke just stop them. Naruto can feel the powerful pressure of the Portal but he already know who will it be.
Two figures appeared to the portal. And when Naruto look to them. He grin widely.
"Mission Success, Hokage-sama!" One of the two figure said in sarcastic way. Naruto chuckle and Sasuke almost burst out of laugh.
"Well, you two, welcome back guys!" Naruto happily said. The ANBU realize that the Hokage knows the two so they go back to their position.
After just a while, the other members of Shadow of Konoha open the door together.
"Your back!" Hinata loose all of her composture and dash to one of them into hug.
