Y/N's pov ϟ

"Oh my Godric. Where did it go?!"

I searched under the table and started walking around the library. "Okay, so I left to go pick up my assignment from Professor McGonagall, then I came back to my potions paper missing. I already checked my backpack, desk, and floor. Where could it be?" I thought as I walked around the library. Today has been a really shitty day and this was the cherry on top. I checked the clock that read 10:56pm.

I mentally slapped myself as I walked around the library, looking at all the empty tables, hoping to see my potions paper lying somewhere. My hopes were quickly destroyed as I circled around the entire library with no success. I held back my tears as I sat back down at my desk. I was one of few people that were in the library this late.

First, I forgot to wear the house tie to Snape's class and lost five points for Gryffindor. Second, I was the only person in class who couldn't master the Transfiguration lesson, something I always felt confident doing. I wrapped my head in my hands before silently crying. I usually wouldn't cry over something so stupid, but my day has been absolutely horrible.

"Oh, Y/N you're so annoying. Why are you crying over something so dumb?"  I thought to myself before packing up my things and making my way back to the common room. I wiped the tears from my eyes as I called out the password. I entered the common room quickly, my head down, hoping that I wouldn't run into anyone I knew.

"Y/N! You're back!" I could hear Harry's cheerful voice as I trudged in. I attempted to walk quickly past him towards the stairs, but he grabbed my wrist and turned me around.

"Hey! What's wrong?" he asked when he saw my tear-streaked face. I could feel the tears build up in my eyes as I stared into his blue ones.

"Oh Harry," I began, my voice breaking up. He pulled me into a hug as I started sobbing into his neck.

"It's really stupid. I don't even know why I'm crying, really," I mumbled into his shoulder. "I just had a stressful day. It's stupid, I know."

"Hey, it's not stupid," Harry said while patting my back. "We all have those days sometimes."

"Well, I just lost my potions paper in the library. The one about the ginger roots due tomorrow. I went to McGonagall's classroom to pick up an assignment then came back to an empty desk. I don't know where it went." I wrapped my arms tighter around his neck.

"If you're worried about your potions grade, I definitely am the worst at potions," Harry said as I started laughing into his sweater. "If that makes you feel better."

"That actually made me feel a lot better," I teased, grinning at his attempt at a joke. "You're probably more stressed than me. You have the third task coming up, I shouldn't be saying this to you."

"You can tell me anything. I'll always be here for you. I promise," Harry said as I pulled away. I held out my pinky.

"You promise?" I asked, eyes puffy.

"Promise."

We linked pinkies and sealed it with a thumb stamp as a grin spread on my face.

"You're a pretty crier." Harry smiled looking at me.

"Oh, shut up. I'm an ugly crier." I rolled my eyes, but the grin on my face grew bigger.

"I'm not lying!" Harry protested. "You are pretty. Crying or not."

I pulled him into another hug, my arms around his neck.

"Thanks Harry. For everything."

I could feel his smile against my neck as I pulled away.
