[Edited again]

Y/n had two mothers but only one had ever really been present in her life. Since one had just disappeared.

Y/n had initally believed that the her birth Mother had abandoned her on that mountain, expecting that she would die.

The truth was quite the opposite.

Of course, y/n wasn't aware. She still wasn't, even after learning that this 'Lady Eira' had stolen something and made some powerful people very mad. Somehow, the stolen object had been placed in y/n's possession without her knowledge.

That was had gotten her family killed.

Y/n hated Eira.

She hated her with everything she had.

Unfortunately, she had nothing left.

Nothing but that damned glove, her vision and that blazing axe y/n loved with all her heart.

"(1)Simile est?" a little y/n asked, swinging the axe. It was over twice her size yet she had a good grip on it and was able to swing it fairly accurately.

"(2)Ita, valde bona est. Tu autem, veniemus, multo fortius." Matr replied.

Y/n's eyes little up, "Ah! (3)Similis ero validus aliquando?"

Matr huffed with laughter as it ruffled the small girl's h/c hair, "(4)Fortasse."

Matr had served as both y/n's mother and mentor, teaching her how to fight and how to defend herself if needed, before Diluc taught her how to use a claymore.

Matr was the one who had molded that snot-nosed little girl into the fearsome warrior she is today.

However, the Mitachurl was not capable of teaching her how to use her vision. Someone else had.

An annoying yet lovable ginger.

"I give uppp!"

A thirteen year old y/n sighed heavily, plopped down onto her butt with a heavy sigh, leaning back and flopping in the grass.

She stared up at the blue sky that stretched far above her then looked to the side to avoid eye contact with the boy who had walked to her sighed and leaned over slightly so he could peer at her.

Y/n never really liked human children since were whiny and cried a lot but this one was different. He was a warrior, like her! Strong, brave and super cool!

He could be a mitachurl of he wanted!

The boy was a little older than y/n was and tended to treat her like a baby but y/n refrained from insulting him too much.

After all, he was strong.
And the strong were worthy of y/n's respect.

"Really? Already? It's not like you just to give up." he pointed out and y/n groaned, "Come on, try again!"

"I don't need that vision stuff. I do fine fighting with my axe." y/n crossed her arms and heat bloomed across her face when the boy gave her a smile and extended a hand.

"Come on, try one last time. Then we can get food." he encouraged her.

Y/n glared, the heat on her cheeks increasing before she sighed, "Fine... only because it was you who asked."

She took his hand and allowed him to pull her up only to drag her closer so that she was pressed up against his chest.

She died inside.

"H-Hey!" y/n protested.

"Only for me, huh? Do you maybe have a crush on me, n/n?" the ginger teased and the girl began to sputter incoherent words.

"Shut it, Childe! I don't have a crush on your stupid fish face, I wanna crush it with a rock!"

"A rock or your love?"

"Be quiet!!!"

"Come on, admit that you like me!"

Y/n and Childe had met a year before while y/n was sprinting away from a Ruin Guard while screaming, holding a Precious Chest above her head.

The ginger had been the one to save her.

After many more encounters, featuring Childe saving y/n from Ruin Guards, he somehow managed to befriend the girl.

Anddddd capture her heart too.

"O-of course I do not!" she snapped then, looked down so she wouldn't have to look her friend in the eye, "And... d-do not call me n/n. Only my best friend can call me that."

"What would that make me then?"

Y/n fidgetted, refusing to look up so she wouldn't have to see the saddened look in those blue eyes. The ginger was the master of guilt-tripping when it came to y/n.

"You are..." y/n trailed off, "Fine, you can call me n/n. Since you're important to me."

"Well then, n/n! Let's try one last time then we'll go to that restaurant you like in Liyue! Maybe we can get a couple's discount~" the ginger teased and y/n flinched.

"C-c-c-couples WHAT!?"

"Just kidding, we're friends, n/n! Right?"

"R-Right..."

•••

How long had y/n stayed there?

A day, maybe?

A day just drowning in her own misery.

She felt oddly numb at that point. The tears had stopped flowing completely and the girl's blank e/c gaze was fixated on the snow falling gently outside.

"Ah..." she exhaled quietly, "Right."

The h/c haired girl as up, wrapping her cloak around herself, "The Ginger used to tell me distracting myself helps with grief..."

Y/n recalled how the ginger had failed yet succeeded in cheering y/n up after the death of Matr that previous year.

His advice had been to do something she loved. Y/n loved going on adventures. She had a good idea on what adventure she could take part in instead of crying.

"Okay." she hummed, standing up and looking at the delusion on her hand, "Whatever you are, I am gonna need your power to help me help Aether find his kin."

No reply. It was an inanimate object.

"Screw you too." she huffed and left the hut, making her way away from Dragonspine and leaving her home behind.

(The sentences with these numbers should translate to the following:
(1)"Like this."
(2)"Yes, very good. You have gotten much stronger."
(3)"Will I be powerful like you someday?"
(4)"Perhaps"
Some may be incorrect ;-;)

(This chapter was meaningless, I just felt like writing whatever, ehe-)
