Y/n screwed up.

She'd taken Teppei's delusion but had been too late anyways. She failed.

And now her friend was dying.

The mita-girl couldn't cry, the tears just wouldn't come out. Instead, she adorned this oddly fearful look.

Aether and Paimon were with her as she stood in front of Teppei in silence.

A distance away stood Kokomi and Gorou, waiting for the trio to return with information on the delusion.

The secret sponsor turned out to be the Fatui, of course. And whatever they'd given all the Captions was leading them to their demise.

Was y/n too late to save her friend?

"Teppei." she managed to say, "The secret weapon is a delusion. A fake vision created by the Fatui."

"A delusion?" Teppei echoed before breaking off into a fit of coughing, "That doesn't sound too good..."

The girl's eyes began to well up with tears, "I-It's not...! It kills you! Delusions affect every person differently but in the end, you'll die!"

'So why are you still using the one in your possession?' a tiny voice asked in her mind.

She didn't answer it.

She had no answer.

"Gosh... well, I suppose it's not too surprising that a mysterious weapon of unknown origins would come with its risks." Teppei murmured before coughing a couple of times, "I've been getting more and more tired over the past few days, and I have this... strange sense of dread."

The tears finally began to fall as y/n's bottle began to crack. The walls didn't even have to fall this time.

"Please don't die..." she whimpered, "I don't want you to die too... don't leave me, please..."

Aether and Paimon stared at y/n silently as she hid her face behind her arm, beginning to cry quietly.

"I... I don't wanna lose someone else..."

Teppei smiled weakly, "Don't worry, y/n, I'll be fine after some rest...! Aether? Could you do me a favor and grab our new uniforms. I'd like to try them on with you three."

"Teppei..." Paimon murmured.

"I just need to rest... a while..."

Y/n stared at Teppei, oddly quiet.

With a small exhaled, she turned and began walking away, eyes like steel.

When Gorou spotted her, he peeked up a little with a, "Y/n, how did it-"

She broke off into a sprint before he could finish his sentence and took off.

"..."

"..."

"Hey! Aether! Come back!" Paimon cried, Aether zooming past Kokomi and Gorou with Paimon close behind.

Ryoichi, from where he was chilling on the roof of Teppei's house, sighed quietly to himself with a, "Alright... time to find that stupid sniper."

Y/n found the Delusion Factory in record time, effortlessly taking down the first two groups of Fatui soldiers who had attacked her upping entry.

She left the little weird magatama pieces alone, planning on knocking down whatever door would be in her way.

'I'll kill them. I'll kill them all.' were the words running through her head, 'Doesn't matter how many there are. They need to pay for what they've done.'
