"Whoa, this mine is huge..." Paimon breathed staring at the mine in front of the small group, "Y/n, come look at-"

Paimon sweatdropped, seeing y/n standing exactly twenty feet away, a nervous expression on her face.

"Y/n, what are you doing?" Aether asked the girl and all eyes turned to her.

"I was almost crushed by a collapsing mine when I was a kid, you can't blame me!" Y/n snapped, e/c eyes narrowed.

"Ah, well, this is where the incident occurred." Uncle Dai informed them, "Six days ago, a group of us left the site to attend to other matters. When we returned, the four men we'd left behind had vanished. I led a team around the entire mine but found no trace. That's when I decided to enlist help."

Y/n gasped, "A kidnapper!"

"Y/n, they're not kids." Paimon reminded the h/c haired female.

"Then..." y/n paused, "A mannapper!"

"So four miners have disappeared?" Zhongli asked as y/n got a little bolder and took a couple of steps closer to the mine, eyes round.

"Yes. There were ten of us. We lost Long, Bold Cen, Brave Cen, and Mao. I worked with all of them." Uncle Dai confirmed.

'Bold Cen? Brave Cen? Are those their names?' y/n wondered, '?????'

"Workers in this trade are usually young men in the prime of their lives. Could it be that the four of them left for another mine?" Zhongli suggested.

"Unlikely. There's no other lodging for miles around, and we didn't pass any other mines on the way over." Uncle Dai replied.

"Huh... such a huge mine." Kun Jun murmured, "Did you really manage to explore every corner?"

"Underground, overground... we left no stone unturned. We tried everything short of digging further into the earth itself." Uncle Dai sighed, "How could four sturdy young men just vanish into the bedrock?"

"Demons." y/n said simply and everyone gave her odd looks again, "What?"

"Paimon is worried about you." Paimon said then poked the girl's face, "Have you been getting enough sleep?"

"We'll need to explore the site ourselves before extracting any conclusions." Aether decided and y/n perked up at the word explore.

"Very well, I'll wait here, please proceed wherever you'd like. If you come across any clues, let me know straight away." Uncle Dai told them and y/n turned and ran off.

"Y/n! Come back!" Paimon called.

"It will only take a second, I'll be right back!" y/n shouted in return, not elaborating on what she planned on doing.

"What, why?"

Y/n crossed her arms and pouted at the trio who all sat on the rocks together.

One, a female, was playing with an electro cincin. Y/n couldn't help but be agitated as the creature buzzed around the female happily like an excited puppy.
