Y/n had been staring at the water with round eyes for the past seventeen minutes.

Aether was starting to get worried until she looked at him. That was when he nearly had a heart attack.

The h/c haired mitagirl was shaking violently, her eyes filled with tears.

"Huh? Y/n?" Paimon inquired.

"Oh yeah, y/n can't swim!" Klee exclaimed as she joined the trio by the shore, "Nobody ever taught her to."

"We knew." Aether replied, "She nearly drowned in a pond. A pond."

"H-Hey! The fish dragged me in!" y/n snapped and Paimon laughed

"Excuses, excuses." the pixie exclaimed.

"Barbaraaaaa! Grand Master Jean! Help!" y/n whined, clinging to a confused Barbara's legs.

Yuuna wandered over with Kuma tucked under her arm and pat y/n's head.

"Don't worry. Yuuna can't swim either."

Perhaps bringing y/n to the Archipelago was a bad idea. A very bad idea.

She couldn't swim and she got sea sick rather easily. She could be their translator when they encounter hilichurls but she would throw hands with any Lawachurl she spotted.

As of now, she was still recovering from when one of those big bullies picked up a rock and tried to cut her arm off with it.

There were some benefits to bringing everyone's favorite arsonist along.

She was good at finding echoing conches and was the one to destroy the three strange pillars, revealing a new area of the Golden Apple Archipelago.

She got lots of headpats as a reward.

For the most part, y/n just accompanied Klee and Yuuna since she couldn't stay in a boat for more than three minutes.

The first time she tried to... uh...

"Ugh....uh... Aether...?" y/n mumbled, trying not to tip over as Aether tried maneuver the boat around whirlpools.

"Hm?" was Aether's reply and his face went red when y/n rested her head on his shoulder.

"I..." she began, "I'm gonna throw up-"

"Wait, what? NO, NO, NO, WAIT-!!!"

Yeah, I think you get the point.

"Aether!" y/n suddenly exclaimed, "I saw a shipwreck earlier! Let's go check it out!"

Aether frowned, "How are we gonna gt there though? You can't go in the boat and you can't swim. You'll drown."

Y/n huffed, "Simple! Yuuna found an air current so we can use that to glide from here to there, dummy!"

Without warning, y/n tucked Aether under one arm and picked up both Yuuna and Klee. She tucked the mini arsonist under her other arm and let Yuuna sit on her shoulders.

"Bye-bye, we'll be back soon!" y/n shouted as she took off, kicking up sand.

"Huh? Hey! Wait for Paimon!" Paimon snapped, zooming after y/n as she sprinted away.
