??? POV

"I'm sorry my lord, but are you sure you want to send your son away based on nothing more than him being born with a low Power Level? You never know, he could grow up to be of great service, to both you AND your empire."

I just glared at the soldier and coldly said "Of course. I have a reputation to keep and am both feared and respected across the universe. I will not allow it to be tarnished due to my child's own weakness. You aren't questioning my methods are you?"

My underling bowed, shaking in fear as he stuttered out an excuse. "N-no my lord! Of course not! I was just making a suggestion. He's your son after all." I continued to glare at the soldier before saying "And? My orders stand. You are in charge of dispatching his ship."

The soldier kept bowing as he simply said "Very well my lord. I will see to it." With that, he stood straight and left the room. I turned back around and continued to stare out of the window into the void of space.

I will admit, there was a small part of me that was reluctant about sending my son away. But I buried those feelings away deeply. If news got out of me having a son with a measly Power Level of 2, it may damage my reputation and the fear felt towards me across the Universe.

Soon, I saw the ship containing my son race past the window. I just stared blankly as it disappeared from view. I didn't know where he would end up and to be honest though, I didn't care.

I wouldn't see my son again for many years, by that time he would have grown up and I would come to regret the mistake of sending him away...

"DODON RAY!"

The beam shot from my finger and into my victim's chest. He was launched back slightly before hitting the ground with a loud thud. I just let out a slight grunt. When I was contracted to eliminate this man, I had expected him to put up some kind of fight, but he was nothing compared to me.

Turning around, I made my way out of the log cabin he had been using as a safehouse in a pitiful attempt to hide, he must have known assassins would come for him. Since this cabin was located in a thick woodland area.

I went over to one of the trees to leave when I noticed something strange though. Above the trees was a faint column of smoke going up into the sky. I don't know why but whatever it was seemed off to me, it wasn't there when I arrived here an hour ago.

Backing away from the tree, I proceeded to make my way in the direction of the smoke. I walked for about two minutes when I finally reached the site of the smoke's source. When I saw what it was, I must admit, I was left stunned for a moment.

The smoke was coming from a crater which seemed to have been recently made in the ground. I stepped closer and my shock only increased. Inside the crater was some kind of spherical ship, unlike anything known on Earth. I could only assume it was extra-terrestrial in origin.

I climbed into the crater to look into the ship, and that's when I noticed it. Next to the ship was a much smaller sphere and inside that orb was a BABY! It was fast asleep and sure enough, it looked like nothing seen on Earth.

The baby had purple skin with a blue dome on top, horns protruded from said dome and a small tail. I just stared at the baby blankly. I didn't care for it or it's situation. I was about to leave when I realized something. This child could be of use.

I turned around and reached out, picking the sleeping baby out of the pod and holding it under its armpits. At this it began to stir and woke up. Though to my surprise it didn't cry or make any movements at all.

Instead it just stared me dead in the eyes. As I stared back I began feeling something coming from it, the potential to be a great warrior was there. I could tell. I eventually spoke saying "I'll take you to my brother, see what he has to say. At least you're quiet, I can't stand brats who cry too much."

After that, I carried the baby back towards the cabin. Just as I initially intended, I got one of the trees, knocked it down, threw it into the air and leaped onto it.

However, instead of travelling back to my last contractor to collect a reward for my last job, I instead travelled the my brother's home. After all, this baby was of no use as he was. But I could tell potential was there.

I eventually arrived at the Crane Hermit school, my brother's home. I loosely held the baby and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, the door opened to reveal Shen, my older brother, the Crane Hermit.

Shen glared at me and asked "Tao! What do you want?" I smirked before saying "I've brought you a little gift

Shen glared at me and asked "Tao! What do you want?" I smirked before saying "I've brought you a little gift." I then held out the baby, Shen looked at it shocked for a moment before turning to me. "Where did you find this child Tao? And why would I want anything to do with it?"

I looked at the child before saying "I believe we should go inside first." Shen just nodded, anger visible on his face. He gestured for me to come in and I entered his house. The two of us sat down as the baby remained on my lap. Shen then said "You had better explain."

I told Shen everything regarding the ship I found and how I believed Y/N to be some sort of alien. I finished my explanation by saying "I am lead to believe that this child could be of great use to us. Though he will need to be trained."

Upon hearing this Shen seemed to change his mind almost instantly. He muttered to himself "Is that so? Interesting." He then picked the baby up who remained silent aside from faint babbling. Shen stared at the baby for a moment before turning to me.

"Very well. I'll take the child off your hands. But he'll need a name won't he." He appeared to think for a moment before saying "Y/N! That's a very suitable for you." He was addressing the baby now how just seemed to babble. I myself nodded silently, it made no difference to me. Shen finally said.

"You will be a fine asset to myself and the Crane School Y/N..."

Author's Note: And that's it for the first chapter in this book, I hope you liked it. I will admit, this was harder to write than I thought it would be, so I'm sorry if it was bad. I couldn't write earlier due to me being busy so I decided to publish a chapter for this book instead of my current one. Please comment and tell me what you thought of this chapter. And finally, thank you for reading.
