(Even though this chapter is based off of a filler episode, it will actually be somewhat important to the story as it solidifies Y/N's development by having him face the younger version of his master. Y/N will still be somewhat loyal to Shen in the 23rd World Tournament however he won't properly leave until after his rematch with Goku.)
Y/N POV
Me and Goku had both followed Mutaito's guidance. So far though, we had little to no success in splitting the waterfall as Mutaito had done earlier. We did meet Fanfan though, a purple-haired girl who seemed sweet, kind-hearted girl. She lost a scarf over the edge of the waterfall and we got it back for her.

Though some time later, Roshi came over to us in a panic. Apparently Fanfan had been kidnapped by Shen and his two underlings. He had also demanded to see me and Goku for some reason, which leads us to where we are now.
Roshi was practically dragging us along as Goku asked "Hey, what's the rush? Why are we in such a hurry? Did something happen?" Roshi turned to us and quickly responded "No time to explain, we have to get to dead field and save Fanfan before it's too late!"
As we approached, I saw Shen standing there expectantly as he said "Here they come." We ran across a rope-bridge and Roshi exclaimed "Here they are you lousy Crane! Now where's Fanfan?!"
Without a word, Shen struck Goku who asked "What's that for?!" Shen angrily yelled "You're in the way, Fanfan is MINE!" He went to land another punch but I intervened, I went and blocked his fist with minimal effort.
I just smirked as Shen glared down at me and said "So, you want to fight first? Fine, I'll make this painful for you kid!" I turned to Goku and said "Let me handle this fight please. I need to do this." Goku just stared at me for a moment before nodding.
I turned back to Shen to see him try and land a karate chop. I dodged it only to be met with a kick shortly after which I was able to block. You see, since he already favoured the 'Crane' style, I had the advantage since that was what I had literally been raised with.
I was able to continue easily evading Shen's attacks, no matter what he tried, he was unable to land a single hit on me. Eventually though, I grew bored of this and landed a knee to his chest followed by an uppercut from my tail.
Shen staggered back and angrily said "Ow, that hurt, are you insane, you could have broken my glasses!" I just rushed forward and landed a punch to his stomach then I swept both his legs, causing him to fall back.
I just stared down at him with a glare. He slowly stood up before suddenly pointing and saying "You play nice! Or else!" I followed his hand and saw Fanfan tied to a tree, one of Shen's henchmen held a knife to her.
Roshi asked "What have you done?!" Shen responded "Nothing, yet. As long as you don't move a muscle neither will he." Roshi yelled "You coward!" Shen just rushed forward and began landing a series of punches to my chest.
I staggered back but they didn't hurt much. He the landed a roundhouse kick but I took it head-on without pain. Shen just stared at me in shock and asked "Why are you still standing?!" I smirked and said "Because, I'm stronger than you. That's all there is to it."
Shen simply snapped his fingers and said "Bye." One of his henchmen threw a burning torch he was holding, it landed on the dry grass and instantly caught fire. The flames formed a ring around us as Shen yelled "Imbeciles! Did you really think I came without a backup plan?!"
Roshi looked at the flames as he said "Things just went from bad to worse. I hate to admit it, but I think Shen's got us. I'm sorry I brought you both into this Goku, Y/N." We both remained silent, Master Mutaito's words echoed in our minds.
We shared a nod and both began channelling our Ki until we were surrounded by the same white aura as Mutaito. Then we extended our arms and white beams shot out threw the flames. Just like with the waterfall, the fire split apart and we ran through it.
Shen exclaimed "I don't believe it!" One of his men turned to the display in shock and in his distraction, Fanfan woke up and kicked him in the crotch! The other henchman raised a fist and said "Who gonna save you now!"
However before he could move, he was stopped. Shen attempted to run however he found his path blocked by none other than Mutaito himself! He sternly said "You have a choice to make Shen, either you leave now or you start your training from the beginning."
Shen got to his knees and started crying. Mutaito turned to me and Goku before saying "He's my pupil so this is my fault, forgive me." Goku responded "I think he became rotten on his own." I just closed my eyes.
I felt somewhat conflicted inside. My loyalty to the Crane Hermit had been tested today and I wasn't too fond of the result...
Timeskip...
We remained under Mutaito's tutorage for about a day after that, picking up what we could from the old master. However now it was time for us to return to our OWN timeline...
Author's Note: That's it for this chapter and we have one more chapter of training under Kami. After that we'll be going on to the 23rd World Tournament. Now I have noticed less votes on the last three chapters, I'm sorry if you haven't enjoyed these chapters that much. I hope they get better when we reach the tournament.
