Demetri's POV -

~Sorry, another time skip :]~

Another reason why I'm grateful to be a vampire is that I don't get tired as easily as humans...and I don't sweat. First we had to deal with stupid scrawny Octavian, then Keto, the goddess of sea monsters, then Hercules, and finally Chrysaor. I was very much annoyed and done with everything, but I had to keep going. We had decided to split up so we can get more done faster. I would be accompanying Percy and Annabeth to the Tiber River and Frank, Hazel, and Leo would go looking for Nico and Katalina. I protested at that last part because I wanted to go, but Annabeth ultimately convinced me, more like ordered me, to stay behind and so that's how I ended up with them. Coah Hedge, Jason, Piper, and Alec would be staying on the ship to protect it.

Percy, Annabeth, and I made our way to the Tiber River. We walked around, but we didn't know where to start. "Here we are" Annabeth declared. I looked around, "Here?". "Yeah, here.." she sighed while looking at her surroundings. "What should we do?" Percy asked. I know Annabeth didn't want to say it, so I said it for her. "I don't know" I replied. Percy kicked a nearby rock and we watched as it rolled away. I saw a nearby cafe and I turned towards them. "Well, are you guys hungry?" I asked. Percy smirked, "Your treat man" he replied. I chuckled and we made our way to the cafe, Annabeth following behind us with a worried face.

I looked at Percy with a shocked face as he ate. "You should probably slow down Perce" I said. He smiled, "I'm fine" he spoke. I looked at Annabeth and she simply rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. "If we have to fight and you puke in the middle of it, I'm leaving you there" I raised my eyebrows. He widened his eyes, "How could you do that to me?" he dramatically cried. I shook my head while laughing. All of a sudden, a Vespa with a couple on top arrived right in front of us. I glanced at them and they walked towards us. I frowned as I stood up in front of Percy and Annabeth. "Can we help you?" I asked confused. "Well hello young man, I am Rhea Silvia and this is my husband, Tiberinus" the woman sickly smiled. "Again, I repeat, can we help you?" I repeated. The woman scoffed, "Uggh, where are your manners young man?" she sneered. Tiberinus glared at me, but he seemed amused. "We are here to assist a young lady on her awaited journey" the man spoke up. I tensed as Annabeth stepped up. "Who sent you?" she asked them. "Nobody, we come by our will" they replied. I tilted my head and I looked at Percy. He seemed just as suspicious as me. "How can we trust you?" Percy asked. The woman scoffed again, "You don't have to, only she has. She is our only concern". Percy snapped his head towards Annabeth. She fiddled with her dagger behind her back, "Let's go" she replied. Percy and I weren't convinced, but we started picking up our stuff. "Now, now..only the girl can come. You two have to stay behind" Rhea smirked. We both started to protest, but Annabeth stopped us yet again. "Its ok guys, don't worry. I'll..I'll be fine" she got out. Percy shoulders slumped, "But..". Annabeth kissed him, "Don't worry seaweed brain, it's not like we aren't ever going to see each other again. I'll be back soon" she smiled. But I could see how scared she was. Her heart was beating fast and I really didn't want her to go. Annabeth looked at me, "Make sure he stay's in line until I come back. You too Percy, make sure Demetri stays in line" she sounded so serious. I gave her a small smile, "Be careful" I said. She smiled at us, "I'll be back soon, be careful" she said.

Percy and I went back to the ship glumly. "Don't worry Perce. Annabeth is one of the strongest women I know" I tried to cheer him up. He looked at me, "Is this how you feel with Katalina right now?" he asked. I stumbled through my words, "W-what? Percy she's Nico's, who is by the way your friend, girlfriend" I exclaimed. He nodded, "I know, but I can't imagine how you must feel now. I mean, when my memory was erased, the only person I remembered was Annabeth. Yeah, I had a few glimpses of Katalina, but Annabeth..Annabeth was always there. And Katalina, you love her, but she's not with you. Romantically and physically. How can you do that?" he finished astonished. I didn't want to say the truth and I didn't know how to answer him either way. I laughed, "Thank you for reminding me I'm single Percy" I teased. Percy laughed, "I see what your doing. Don't worry, I know you'll tell me when your ready" he patted me on the back. I looked at him, "How are you so different from Katalina's other siblings?" I chuckled. "Well for starters, I'm a demigod if you haven't noticed" he chuckled. I laughed right with him, "Yeah, you are". He then hooked his arm with mine, "And, I'm also your friend" he smiled. I smiled back, "Thank you".

Never again am I going to see water the same. "Are you ok Percy?" I asked him immediately. He hasn't really spoken ever since that happened. "I couldn't breathe underwater Demetri...I couldn't breathe" he muttered panicked. I rubbed his back, "Your fine, your fine now", I didn't really know what else to say to him. I mean, he's the son of the sea god. Of course it would be traumatizing for him to not be able to breathe underwater all of a sudden. Percy then stood tall, "I'm alright, I'm alright..Let's go, there are some certain people waiting for us" he said. I simply nodded and we headed off.

We quickly arrived at the lair and we looked around. "Over here" Percy said. We followed him, "How do you know?" Jason asked him. "I can sense my sister" he simply said. My body tensed, 'Katalina is near' was all I could think of. We turned a corner and there we saw a jar. My eyes widened, "Their in a jar!" I exclaimed quietly. We approached the jar, but then two giants appeared before us. "Oh god, please no more!!" I groaned as I unsheathed my sword. "These are no fun anymore" one of them grunted. The other looked inside the jar and frowned, "Let's throw them out and find other ones" he said. The second one tipped over the jar and my eyes widened in horror. Both Nico's and Katalina's body rolled over to the side unconscious. "You get them, I'll try to distract them" Percy looked at me. I nodded and I rushed over to them. I saw Nico start crawling and I headed over to him. "Here, let me help you" I told him. He glared at me, but he was so weak that he gave in. I looked at Katalina and she still wasn't moving. I pulled Nico aside and I headed over to her. "Katalina, love, it's me Demetri" I said into her ears. She stirred, "Demetri..". When my name slipped from her lips, it felt like my heart had started beating again. "I'm here, don't worry" I told her as I picked her up. She let me carry her and I felt her lips graze my neck. I shivered and I looked at her. It hurt so much to see her in pain. I put her down against Nico. "Give me my bag" Nico asked. I reached for his bag and I gave it to him. He pulled out some ambrosia. I was shocked to see that they still had some. He ate some and then pulled Katalina closer to him. He slipped some ambrosia into her mouth. "It will take longer for her to wake up fully. She did a spell, so I don't know how long it will take. Ambrosia will be able to help..hopefully" he explained. He stood and I noticed his legs shake a little. "What are you doing?" I asked while grabbing him. "Isn't it obvious?! I need to go help" he answered me while moving away from me. I grabbed his wrist, "I can't let you do that". He glared at me, "I need you to take her away, I'll be fine" he snapped. Before I could stop him again, he had already run off to join them. I looked over at Alec who was helping Jason distract the other giant. We made eye contact and he mouthed, 'go'. I knew he would be ok so I picked Katalina up and I ran out.

I found a huge rock and I hid us both behind there. I cradled her in my arms and I listened for her heart beat. It was at a slower than normal pace, but that was because she was still a bit unconscious. "Demetri..." she mumbled. I looked at her, "Yes, I'm right here". "Percy...where is he?" she kept mumbling. I smiled, "Don't worry he's fine. He and the others will be here soon. You just hang ok..?", I caressed her cheek. I then heard the others running and I stood up. "Over here!" I yelled. They made their way to me and Nico dropped to his knees right besides her. "I can try something with the water" Percy recommended. Nico shook his head, "No, we need a witch. Katalina used a spell, so only another spell will help reverse it" he said. I turned to Alec, "Alec, you know some spells don't you". Alec gave me a look, "Demetri, I'm not a witch" he said while gritting his teeth. 'Stupid Demetri' I thought to myself. The reason he died was because villagers accused him and Jane of being witches. "We need to go to New Orleans" Nico gravely said. "We don't have time" Percy interjected. I looked at him, "We need to go save Annabeth" he said while looking at me. "What do I need to do?" I asked him. "Keep her safe until we come back" he replied. Nico stayed back a little and he stared at Katalina. He looked up at me, "Protect her with the second life you were given" he dug his eyes at me. "I will, I always will" I replied. He tilted his head, "Don't get me wrong. I don't trust you, but I know you care about her too. Perhaps in a way that I don't..really like, but I don't have much else" he said before leaving. I looked at them as they walked away. 'I don't have a good feeling about this' I thought.
