Demetri's POV -

The next morning, we all met up for breakfast on the ship. Katalina and Nico sat at the back of the ship and Nico had his sword right next to him, creeping Leo out. I smirked secretly. Of course I knew he saw us last night. I found his jealousy funny, but he probably also did the same thing with me when seeing me all jealous. "I met with the former priest of Hecate last night" he started. When he said last night he glanced at me and I just kept eye contact. He looked away, "I learned about some things that we will need in order to go through the House of Hades, and also the history behind the place-", Nico was cut off by Leo making jokes. "Leo stop!" Jason kicked him in the shin. "Oww, ok.." he complained in pain. Nico gave him a look and continued, "As I was saying, we need-", this time he wasn't interrupted by someone, but rather by the ship all of suddenly lurching harshly. Nico fell against the wall, banging his head in the process. Katalina was immediately by his side. She took him into her arms and helped him up. "Here let's get you checked up" she said while bringing him away. I could only watch as they walked away. Alec came up to me and put a hand on my shoulder. "Look on the bright side man. We're going home" he smiled.

"We got them to delay the Romans" Leo announced as we landed. "That's relieving" Nico replied. We had arrived in Venice, Italy just some few minutes ago. Not exactly Volterra, but at least we were back in Italy. I hadn't realized how much I had missed my home with everything that has been going on.

"I guess I'll go with since I know Italian. It will make it easier for you" Nico told Frank. All of our eyes widened, except for Katalina's. "You know how to speak Italian?" Frank asked surprised. Nico gave him a look, "I am after all Italian" he responded. "I'll go with you guys too" Hazel smiled. Frank seemed relieved at that. "What do you want us to do?" Katalina asked him. He turned and looked at us three, well more like at me and Katalina. "Look for medical supplies, food, anything that could help us along the way" he stated. We all nodded and Nico came closer. "You'll be fine right?" Nico asked Katalina while taking her hands. She smiled, "Of course, to my luck, both of these guys speak Italian. And I might know some from my lessons with you and my brothers" she teased. He blushed, "Ok then, I'll see you when we come back" he smiled. She nodded and then he kissed her right in front of me. Alec looked at me and I glared at Nico. "Stai al sicuro amore mio" he whispered into her ear. I rolled my eyes and watched as he left.

"Its been such a long time" Alec and Katalina said at the same time. They turned and laughed together. "How long as it been for you Katalina? Like 500 years" Alec joked. Katalina scoffed, "Not at all! For your information I have been here" she said proudly. "For business, yes, but when was the last time you actually came and enjoyed yourself?" Alec clarified teasingly. I looked at her, when has she been here? She stared into the distance, deep in thought. "I can't quite remember exactly, but I know it was when Italy still had a monarch" she answered quizzically. She was here when we were already here. I could of known her sooner before she met Nico. 'We could've been together sooner' I thought. "Well, we would take you around to look more, but due to the unforeseen circumstances...we'll have to save that for another time" Alec told her. She smiled, "I'd like that very much". I scoffed lowly, "Wouldn't you like that more from Nico?" I asked bitterly. Alec jumped a little at that, "Oh yeah I forgot, Nico's Italian. He'll probably like to show you around" Alec said a little glumly. We turned a corner, "Actually, Nico doesn't really like coming to Italy because of...well he is becoming more open on visiting his home country more" she explained. I frowned, why wouldn't he like coming to his home country? I wanted to question her further, but I let it slide. I knew she never was going to tell me his secrets. Not that I want to know, I'm just curious.

We arrived back to the ship and we settled everything down. Nico, Frank, and Hazel weren't back yet, so we just sat around. "How do you say, where are we going?, in Italian?" Katalina asked Alec and I. Alec looked at me, and made a head movement indicating for me to tell her. I coughed a little, "Ok, umm, repeat after me, Dove stiamo andando?" I said. She concentrated, "Dove stiamo...andando?" she repeated. I smiled, "Proprio cosi". She smiled back with glee, "I'm not so bad". I chuckled and then we heard footsteps. We all reached towards our weapons, but we lowered them once we saw Nico, Frank, and Hazel arrive. Katalina smiled once seeing Nico, but he just walked past her. Her smiled faltered and she frowned. She turned to Frank and Hazel, "What happened?" she asked serious. They explained to her what had happened and I had to stifle a laugh when they said that Nico was turned into a corn plant. Katalina glared at me and I instantly shut up. She listened closely to every word and finally when they were done, she got up and left to find Nico. I wanted to go after her, but she wasn't mine yet.

Katalina's POV -

I knocked on the door softly, "Nico.." I whispered. I pushed open the door and I saw him laying down on the bed. I took a few steps and I sat at the edge of the bed. He turned and laid his head on my lap. I ran my fingers through his soft curls and I brought him closer to me. After a moment I heard him mutter, "I was humiliated Katalina, humiliated..." he said while squeezing my thighs. I bent down a little and I gave him a kiss on his forehead. I didn't know what to say to him. All I could do was just be there for him. After a while he fell asleep in my hold. I looked down and smiled fondly at him. He looked so cute and peaceful when he was sleeping. His lips were in a pout and he hugged my legs tighter. I moved around so I can lay right next to him, trying not to wake him up. Once I was successful, I wrapped my arms around him and I gave him another kiss, but this time on the cheek. He smiled in his sleep and he snuggled more into me.

Nico woke up after 2 hours and I never left his side. He rubbed his eyes open and he lazily smiled. "Had a nice nap" I teased. He giggled, "Yes". I melted at his actions. How is he cute?! He snuggled up onto me again, "Your being really cuddly these days, I love it", I pecked him on the lips. Nico blushed and he hid his flushed face. I peeked into inside the covers, "Nico are you in thereeee?" I sang. He laughed and nodded. "Posso avere un abbraccio?" I asked. His eyes widened a little and he instantly dove for a hug. "I haven't taught you that. Where have you been learning Italian?" he questioned surprised. "Demetri has been helping me" I answered him. The smile on his face faltered and the gleam in his eyes died down. "Demetri huh.." he said. I felt the mood in the room change, "Is there something wrong with him teaching me? If you don't like it, then I'll just stop getting lessons from him" I quickly said. He looked at me, "It's not just that" he said. I frowned, "What else is there?" I asked. He sighed deeply, "I don't like how close you two are getting. I'm not saying that you can't be friends with him, just, maybe, be more mindful of your actions. Your actions might make him think that something else is going on and I really don't like how touchy you guys have been" he confessed to me. I didn't feel shocked, I just felt like I let him down. "I'm sorry Nico, I didn't mean anything else than just pure friendship with my actions towards Demetri. I love you and I really don't want to lose you" I stared into his eyes. He gave me a warm smile and held my hand. "Thank you for telling me this. If there's something you don't like or think I should work on, please tell me.." I looked down in embarrassment. "I understand, but I think you can detect when there's something you shouldn't be doing. I'm just voicing this out because I'm your partner and I care a lot about you and this relationship" he explained. "I love you" I said. He came closer, "I love you too", he then kissed me and we parted. I rested my head on his shoulder, "Nico..I just want you to know that, you can tell me anything". His body tensed all of a sudden, but just as fast as it happened, it left. He hugged me tighter, "Y-yeah, I know....".
