Come back...I'm scared

Katalina's POV -

Everybody was ok physically, but we were all hurting inside. After Khione had left and Leo had disappeared, I rushed downstairs to perform a locator spell. I knocked some things over trying to find a map. "Where is the goddamn map?! Does anyone here know where we keep the maps?!!" I asked irritated. Jason handed me one and I laid it across a table. I took out my dagger and before anybody could stop me, I cut the palm of my hand. It hurt a little bit more this time because I was weak from using all that power, but I could care any less. Demetri froze and his eyes turned a dark red. "Did you have to do that?" he asked without breathing. I ignored him and raised my hand above the map. Everybody besides Alec and Nico had cringed because they have never really seen anyone cut themselves like this. "Magical purposes" I heard Alec tell Jason. "Phasmatos Tribum, Nas Ex Veras, Sequitas Sanguinem" I chanted. I watched as the blood moved towards a direction, but then it spread everywhere. "What?? This can't be possible!" I raised my voice. "What happened?" Hazel asked scared. "Katalina, calm down" Nico said putting a hand on my shoulder. At other times I would be so happy when I would feel his touch, but I was too angry right now. "Calm down?! You want me to calm down! I can't find him and for all I know he could be dead!" I yelled at him. Nico frowned, "Katalina-", "No! Don't you Katalina me Nico! Or what? Is it that perhaps you already know where he is?" I snapped at him. Nico became very angry, "What? Do you love him too?!!" he raised his voice. I laughed bitterly, "So you do know where he is or...?". He took a step forward, "I don't know where he is" he said. "Why should I believe you?" I scoffed. "And why should I believe that you are not in love with him?" he retorted back. "Nico, he's a friend!", is he serious right now? "That's what you said about Demetri!!" he screamed. A tear fell down his cheek and I hated myself for making him feel that way. Nico scoffed and left the room. I looked down in shame. "He can't be dead" Hazel cried. "No, he is not dead. Katalina, the spell might not have worked because your weak right now" Alec spoke. I shook my head, "Weak or strong, it doesn't matter. All that matters, is that you perform it correctly. And I did not make a mistake" I spoke out agitated.

I was laying in bed as the ship rocked smoothly on the waters. "Why do I always ruin things?!" I cried. I just want the pain to stop. "Please, just make it stop..." I said these words as I cried myself to sleep.

We had passed Greece through the night and Jason requested to stop in Africa. "I suppose you have a reason..?" I questioned. "Yes, I do" he answered. I nodded, "Ok then". He gave a shocked look, "Really??". "Why would I interfere Jason. If your sure about it, then lets go" I said while moving some things around. "Ok, well thank you, I'll just go and check that everything is fine with the ship and I'll come back to you" he responded. I smiled, "Yup, that's fine". He smiled back and was about to leave when Piper came in. Our smiles faltered and he got nervous. "Piper, what are you d-doing here?" he stuttered. "I came to talk with Katalina" she answered him simply. I raised my eyebrows at her. Jason looked at me, "Katalina is busy" he said. "Actually, I have some time before we depart. You can stay Piper, don't worry Jason" I stopped him. He looked very confused, but he nodded and left.

Piper closed the door behind her and I crossed my arms. "I assume your wondering why I came, since this whole time I've only been a bitch to you" she started. I noticed she was fiddling with her fingers and she was averting eye contact. I didn't say anything so she took that as a sign to continue. "I wanted to apologize for how I've acted around you" she breathed out anxious. I sighed, "I guess we both have reasons to apologize. I shouldn't have attacked you like that" I chuckled embarrassed. "You were angry, its understandable. Although, I would like it if you didn't do that again" she chuckled nervously. I laughed, "As long as you don't give me a reason to". She gulped and nodded while taking a seat on the chair . "Honestly, I was being really hard on you because I was jealous. Leo seemed to really like you and I didn't want to lose my only friend. And with Jason, I just didn't like at all how close you two were getting" she confessed. I laughed, "Pfft! Jason and I? I don't think so. And besides, I already have Nico..." my laugh immediately died down. Piper gave me an apologetic look, "I know things aren't well in between you and Nico. You know, Aphrodite things..." she said. I gave a small chuckle, but I wasn't exactly in the mood to laugh. Piper sighed, "Look, Katalina, I know we aren't exactly, close, but if you ever need anyone to talk to, I'm here. I swear that I will never tell". I looked at her, "That will be fine. I've gotten used to solving things on my own" I replied. She gave me a look, "Katalina, it's always nice to talk to someone. Don't you have someone whom you trust?" she questioned. 'Nico' was the name that ran through my mind when she asked me that. I sighed "I've kind of ruined the relationship with that person" I dragged. "Have you tried building it back up?" she asked. I froze, "No..". "Why haven't you?". I looked down at the floor. "I failed him" I answered. She sighed, clearly annoyed, "Don't try to only blame yourself. He also failed you". I shook my head, "I-I..", "He lied to you Katalina! A very grave lie!" she exclaimed. I looked at her, "I've lied to him too Piper! And you know what's even worse?? I developed feelings for another guy!" I cried. She stared daggers at me, "You can't control how you feel Katalina. But you can decide how your going to deal with this". "I don't know what to do Piper" I sighed. Piper stood up straight, "Well you better do soon or else there will be no more saving for your relationship" she raised her voice. I glared at her, but I knew she was right.
