MAX WENT OUT OF the car with a blank expression. As soon as he did so, the students who spot him instantly start staring. Well, technically not at him, but the crown brooch that's on his collar.

Everyone was able to witness the historical scene that took place at the Great Hall, and a lot of the students still couldn't process the fact that he actually conquered Jokers within a week. Looking at his brooch is the only evidence they have of that moment.

"Have an amazing day master," Étienne says as he closes the door for Max.

Max nods his head and then he starts walking towards the Keep, but just when everything started going well, a student suddenly bumps into him so hard, he trips.

The students around him laugh, and all Max could do is sigh to release his frustration. Of course, Max is still a serf even though he conquered a brotherhood. The 500 merit points he received were not enough to make him a dweller, which means, Max is still at the bottom of the food chain.

Max grabs his bag and slowly lifts himself from the ground when a voice suddenly asks, "Are you alright white uniform?"

The students who are laughing instantly stop and start running away when they saw who it was. As for Max, the voice alone made him roll his eyes in irritation. He ignores the question as he dusts off the dirt from his knees. Then he turns around and immediately bows his head to show his so-called respect.

"Kings," he greets, making Viktor grin.

Viktor was standing in front of Max with two other members of Busters standing behind him.

Max was expecting to hear another offensive remark from Viktor, but instead, he told him, "walk with us." And before Max could even say anything, the three kings start walking towards the Keep, and all Max can do is sigh and follow behind them like the obedient white uniform that he is.

The four of them went inside the Keep. Everyone who was in the hallway would either stop what they were doing so they could bow at Busters, or they'd simply run away and hope for the best. As for Max, he just followed them without knowing where they were heading. It would practically be suicide if he runs off now.

"What did I do to deserve the kings' attention?" Max finally asks when he realized that they weren't going to say anything to him.

"Actually, we wanted to congratulate you for being able to get your first pet. I thought it would take longer than that, but I guess a week was enough for someone like yourself," Viktor says, and Max didn't answer back because he knows that there was no point in doing so. After everything he's been through so far, Max is fully aware that it's not his place to speak during times like these.

"You amaze us white uniform, but remember that our castle was molded to our liking. If you become a hindrance to our system, we will not hesitate to step in," Viktor adds as he finally stopped walking, making Max and the other members of Busters stop walking as well.

Max finally understood why Viktor wanted to talk to him. It wasn't to congratulate him like what he said, but it was to threaten him.

"Anyway, here we are," Viktor says before turning around to face Max with a sinister smile.

Max's eyes widen when he realized that they were actually at the Hall of Caelus where the sophomore classes are. Apparently, the kings walked him to his room.

As Viktor got ready to add something to what he said, one of the members of Busters suddenly leans close to him and whispers something. The smirk on Viktor's face instantly vanishes and was turned into a more serious expression right after that.
