OPERATION BRING DAD BACK was officially inset. All of the US had been searching place to place for him. But the problem was, we only had seven days to bring dad back. The government says they'll only allow one week of our search. After a week, that's it. They act as if they're in control of our lives, and mom just lets them walk all over us because they're Avengers. But something is better than nothing.
We agreed that for now, our family wouldn't try to be all extra with the search. Mom also agreed that she'd go into the school and take Dad's old place just until they found a replacement.
That was not going to end well.
"How do I look?" Mom asks for yet the hundredth time in the last two minutes.
I look up and glance at her outfit. She was wearing a white tee with a jean jacket and jeans. "Mom, you look perfectly fine, I'm going to be late for school. Can we go now?"
Mom looks in the mirror once more. I could tell there was a lot on her mind. She was nervous and stressed. Especially now with the search for dad. I slightly frown before walking over to her.
"We'll get through today together."
She looks at me. Looks into my eyes as if she had been searching for some type of lie. Mom nods and pulls me into a hug.
"Let's go."
Finally, we get into the car and make our way into the school. So to fill in the blanks about J.M.R., since dad worked there; mom decided to take his place while he was gone. She also thought it'd be a good way for her to get the closure she needs. And information— even though getting information about him from a school made no sense since she's been with him for over 12 years— but anyway back to what I was saying, it's going to be a bad day.
After a good thirty minutes, we arrive at the school. Neither of us says a word, we just get out of the car and walk towards the entrance of the school. We both glance at one another before walking in. Once we walked in, we both went our separate ways.
WANDA'S POV///
Oh god. I'm nervous. I'm stressed. What if I mess up? Teaching was more of James's job, sure I came time and time to help. But none of this is the same without him.
