"Machi's Many Secrets"

"Machi may not be guilty, but he's still a suspect"

as if trucy could read his mind, she pouted at his grim expression

'But they don't have any decisive evidence!'

she pointed out, apollo wished he could be just as enthusiastic as her, but his doubts started to creep in

'Yeah, but only someone as small as him could have gotten out of that room'

she frowned as she nervously played with her white silk gloves

'Right... the air vent'

'And... he lied'

he added

'Lied?'

'Machi Tobaye can see...'

he reminded him, they both stopped talking as soon as they heard footsteps approaching towards them, machi sat in his seat, as quiet as ever

'Speak of the devil'

apollo muttered under his breath as he took out his notepad and pen from his pocket

'He looks like he's doing OK!'

trucy said, trying to bring the mood up, ...it didn't work, but apollo appreciated the effort

'I forget. Why did we come here? It's not like we can talk to him or anything'

trucy swatted her head

'Words are overrated! Feelings are what matter, Apollo'

apollo gave her a look

'It's kinda hard to build a court case on feelings. But, since we're here, anyway. Might as well get what I want to say off my chest'

'If you need someone to complain to, I'll listen...

"I think she's actually worried for me..."

trucy decided to take a try, her father spoke six languages, who's to say talent like that can't rub off on his kids?!

'So, Machi... You can see, right?'

Machi stayed silent as he stared at the two through his sunglasses

'Machi can see, and Lamiroir can't... The whole world's gone topsy-turvy!'

she said, hoping this would spark something, it didn't, she sighed in defeat

'Sorry, Apollo. I don't think we're going to get any information out of Machi. ...Which makes sense'

"...Yeah, I guess it does..."

trucy decided to try once last time

'So, what did you think of the trial today?'

awkward silence

'...Whew. I'm glad he doesn't understand English after all. If he did, he would have been scared out of his mind by that trial'

trucy said a little awkward, trying to find some light in this situation, apollo sighed as he crossed his arms

'Hey, all's well that ends well. You have to be more goal oriented. If he's not guilty, we win'

'No, if he's innocent, we win. Machi might not understand English, but I bet he gets that better than you do'

for a moment, then apollo looked into machi's covered eyes, ..he felt his bracelet go off, getting tighter around his wrist, 

"Huh...?"

trucy who didn't notice any of this, kept on talking

'I'm glad Lamiroir testified! What a great person. She even got Machi off the hook by naming another suspect!;

'Daryan of the Gavinners... The detective. I wonder if Machi knows what happened?'

apollo said a little wary, eyeing machi with great suspiousion

'I mean, if he could follow how the trial went at all. If no one told him there's a new suspect, how would he know?'

he felt his bracelet go off again, getting just a little more tighter

'Hey...'

he mumbled, staring down at his wrist, trucy raised a brow at him

'What is it, Apollo?'

he shook his head slowly, ..he didn't want to say anything to now, not when he didn;t have any evidence, and wasn't even sure on what machi was hiding

'No... It's nothing...I must be imagining it'

'Imagining what, Apollo?'

Apollo hesiated for a moment before he spoke

'It's just, I couldn't help but feel that... I dunno. Machi... ...He doesn't understand what we're saying, right?'

'How could he? He's a young Borginian! He doesn't speak English'

he lowered his voice so only trucy could hear him

'Yeah, but my bracelet is reacting to him'

trucy darted her eyes at machi then back at apollo's bracelet

'Huh? Maybe it's malfunctioning? Or it's scared, because you keep making those "I'm so mad" faces, and you kept making those glarey eyes my daddy makes'

'Was I that bad?'

he asked, but his mind was elsewhere

 "Machi lied about not being able to see... But what if that's not all he lied about?"

'If you're curious about it there's only one thing to do. You should ask him'

apollo gave her a look

"I think it'll take something big to get to him... Some kind of undeniable evidence"

he looked back up at machi and tried to sound as natural as possible

'...We'll be back, Machi'

Machi didn't say anything as the two got up and left, ..apollo still felt something wrong in his gut, but he tried to put it past him for now
