'What? Come to laugh at the murderer?'

were the first worlds to leave daryan mouth as soon as the two approached him, when they didn't even mean to, Daryan just happened to be there

'Daryan...'

was all trucy managed to get out before daryan started to rant

'That old bag opens her pie hole, and wham-bam my life goes down the chute. Thanks! They won't let me work while I'm a suspect!'

Trucy looked over at apollo, who had the same expression as herself

'Daryan isn't in the best of moods, is he?'

'Not many people are these days, it seems'

Trucy shrugged

'It is a crime scene. Not exactly the happiest place to hang out'

Daryan rolled his eyes

'Then Gavin had to go rub salt in the wound... My alibi's rock solid. Rock solid!'

trucy awkwardly cleared her throat

'So, about your alibi...'

'You have to ask? The shooting happened right in the middle of the third set!'

Apollo nodded wearily

'Um... that's right'

"The music was blaring when we heard those gunshots... ...And found Mr. LeTouse dead"

'I've got ten thousand witnesses who saw me, too. Right there on that stage'

'Your guitar playing was something else!'

trucy complimented, hoping this would lighten the mood, thankfully it did, he grinned as he fixed up his strange hairstyle

'Thanks, little lady. ...See? This whole thing's a sham. I can't believe they aren't letting me work!'

he cried out, apollo flinched as he rubbed his ears, and he thought he was loud

'There's no need to yell at me...'

"It's Lamiroir's fault... She was the one who said she heard his voice at the moment of the crime..."

he thought bitterly, but knew better then to say it outloud, Daryan shook his head in dismay

'Man, I never even talked to that old windbag! How could she possibly identify me?'

'They won't let you work?'

trucy asked, Daryan growled underneath his breathe

'He won't let me work! Gavin! Says I gotta lie low till the suspicion is cleared. What suspicion!? He can be such a stick in the mud'

she chocked her head to the side in confusion

'Mr. Gavin? A stick in the mud?'

'He may look all flashy and showy, but he's straight as an arrow, man. ...'Cept when he's depressed. You hear him whining the other day?'

'Oh, you mean the thing with the mixing board?'

apollo remembered, replaying the conversation in his head, if the situation wasn't so serious, apollo would probably thought it was funny, trucy hmmed to herself before speaking

'Well, I think the Gavinners are the best! I have all your albums'

Daryan shrugged

'The band's fine, too. Gavin can write a good tune, I'll give him that, "The Guitar's Serenade", eh? Classic tearjerker, that one'

he snapped his fingers and grinned

'You don't think he based it on a real experience, do you?'

she said

'Probably not. He writes by feeling, more than memory'

'Ooh! You mean the songs just kind of "come to him"?'

Daryan nodded

'Yeah, something like that. I guess you could call him a genius. Of course he changes the song and lyrics on a whim. Drives me up the wall'

Apollo looked off to the side, slight irration playing on his face

'He makes his court cases on a whim sometimes, too'

'He changed the lyrics to a song just before a recording the other day, even. Wants to put in this line about a university student obsessed with girls. Whatever!'

"Hmm? Why does that sound strangely familiar?"

'Of course it always turns out good in the end. That's his talent, I suppose'

'Come to think of it, I haven't seen Prosecutor Gavin around much'

apollo now noticed, the last time he ever saw him was in court, Daryan narrowed his eyes

'Oh, him? He's down at the prosecutor's office, most likely'

he said, waving a hand non-shalontly

'The prosecutor's office...'

"I've never been there, have I"

apollo always wondered what it was like down there, their own office basically looked like a cozy pretty library with a few magic stuff here and their

'The data on the victim should have come in from Interpol. ...Normally, I'd be down there dealing with it. Normally'

he said, trucy nudge apollo lightly in his ribs

'Apollo! Let's go check it out! I've always wanted to see the prosecutor's office'

'Hmm... Maybe that's not such a bad idea'

'Right on!'

Daryan spoke before they could both leave

'Say "hi" for me, OK? Oh, and "screw you". And tell him I want into that crime scene!'

apollo nodded awkwardly as he scratched the back of his neck

'...Um, we'll be going now'

Daryan suddenly gave him a serious look

'Hey, wait'

'Y...Yes?'

he stuttered a bit on his words, feeling his anxiety creeping up on him, Daryan then stared coldly into his eyes, as if being him a silent warning

'What do you really think happened? Really? You don't think I did it, right?'

apollo felt his pulse getting faster and faster as he nervously swallowed

'W-Well...'

Daryan didn't wait for him to finish, he grinned as he leaned away

'Great. Way to instill a guy with some confidence. Just remember, I was ripping it up on stage when it happened, OK? Ripping!, Don't get led astray by some siren song, eh? Get this one wrong, and you'll be eating humble pie for a year. I'll bake it myself'

he warned, and walkd off, leaving the two in stunned, anxious silence, apollo looked over at trucy, she seemed just as on edge as he was

'Let's... not talk to him anymore. Alright?'

apollo silently agreed with her as they made their to the klavier's office

"Detective Daryan Crescend... He's one stone I'd leave unturned if I had a choice"
