All credit for this goes to @mynameisjudy   for the inspiration and Idea of Clato day/month

I'm really late on this idea because of some family stuff and business, as well as being locked out of my account for a few days,  but go check their profile for more information.

Write a story/oneshot, draw fanart anything Clato inspired and make sure to tag them and use the hashtag #clatonotglato

Anyways here's the oneshot xx sorry it's really bad...

Clove took a deep breath as she closed her eyes, and mentally prepared herself for what she was about to do. As she reopened them, her breath hitched at the sight of the blonde boy, who was standing only meters away from her in the large cafeteria. She still couldn't get over how gorgeous he was, from the tall muscular build of his body, to his pair of shining blue eyes.

It was now or never.

Each step she took towards him felt like it was in slow motion, as her feet dragged against the floor. Clove had finally gotten the guts to ask Cato to spring banquet. Although they'd only talked about seven or eight times she had been crushing on him for ages. Deep down, Clove knew he had a date already. Of course he did. He was Cato Hadley. Captain of at least four sports teams, charming and attractive, and basically the golden boy of school. Why the hell was she doing this just to get rejected for a prettier, funnier, friendlier girl? The things she did because of her best friend Finch.... The stupid girl had bugged her about asking Cato for weeks and Clove finally gave in, mostly to get her to shut up.

Shit, this was really happening. Clove was now right in front of him and he had noticed her.

"Hey Cloverfield how's it going?"

Not a day had gone by that he didn't address her by some stupid nickname. Clover, Clovely, Cloverfield.

"Hey Cato...I- how are you?"

Cato raised an eyebrow at the somewhat odd question. Highschoolers didn't normally approach each other and ask how the other was doing. No one had time for such pleasantries.

"Ah... great! How about you?" He replied going along with the shaky brunette.

"Fine...fine...so...are you doing anything next Friday?" Clove spluttered, trying her hardest not to run away right then and there.

"Going to banquet, yeah why? Are you?"

Did that mean he already had a date? Probably. Clove was ready to wrap up the conversation and leave when she glanced behind Cato and caught the eye of Marvel Sanford, not only her close friend, but Catos close friend as well. He was their connecting link, and had recently started dating Finch, which made Clove and Marvel closer. Clove had sent the lanky brunette on missions to interrogate Cato about his feelings for her. Everytime he'd come back and tell Clove "he definitely likes you. I don't know to what extent but he definitely likes you. You have a chance Clo."

Marvel gave Clove an encouraging thumbs up, flashing her a smile. "Yeah...I might go too it's just that-"

"Cato! Hey! I was looking for you!"

Clove blinked as the bouncy blonde girl appeared out of nowhere leaning up against Cato.

Cato eyed her warily but nodded. "Hey Glimmer, what's up?"

"I just wanted to talk to you! Is that a crime?" She glanced over at Clove, her bright smile fading. She scowled at the other girl and grasped Cato's hand in her own. "Clove. Nice seeing you. Let's go get lunch Cato."

"Glim I was talking with her though-"

Glimmer ignored his words, dragging him away, leaving a very disappointed and confused Clove in their wake. So they were going together? Makes sense. Glimmer was hot and...well really hot was her only good feature. Unless Cato liked stuck up, self centered bitches.

Defeated, Clove stomped back to her table, sitting down beside Finch.

"Did you ask him-"

"No. I don't feel like talking about it either."

Finch nodded, and turned, taking a bite of her food leaving the two to sit in uncomfortable silence.

~~end of the day~~

Clove pushed her way through the crowd of students getting into cars and buses, exhausted from her day of work. She had been assigned so many new projects it was all looking quite overwhelming. Oh yeah. And her crush had a girlfriend. Clove had had multiple classes with both Cato and Glimmer, and she had to constantly turn away from the pair as Glimmer would lean against his shoulder, or stroke his bicep.

The green eyed girl made her way down the cracked sidewalk, and away from the bustling school, eager to go home, eat food, and sulk.

Just as she began to turn down her street, a voice shouted out her name. She froze as she recognized it, and turned to see Cato racing towards her.

"Clove, I was looking everywhere for you!" Her brow furrowed at the words but she continued to listen. "I probably should have talked to you earlier today but then Glimmer barged in and everything..." Cato paused momentarily, then looked back down at Clove, who raised an eyebrow at him expectantly.

"Sooo... you were going to tell me something?"

Cato nodded, then gave Clove a small, almost hopeful smile. "Would you...by any chance be interested in going to banquet with me?"

Clove nearly fainted right then and there at his words, and she had to will herself not to fall over. "But what about glato?"

"What?"

"Glato. Glimmer and Cato?"

Cato snorted and shook his head quickly. "Hell no, that girl annoys me! Why? Did you think we were a thing or something?"

"Well...yeah..."

"We're not. So...does that mean yes to banquet?"

"Yes. yes yes yes. Definitely." Clove responded, now blushing slightly.

"Pick you up at seven?"

Clove grinned. "Seven works. I'll see you then?"

Cato quickly grasped her hand, pulling it forward, and he gently kissed it. "Sounds amazing Clovely. Can't wait."

Cato turned and began to walk down the opposite street, giving Clove a final wave, and large smile.

Once Clove was out of his line of vision, she let out a loud squeal, bouncing up and down. The whole thing felt like a daydream, and it had happened so quick. Her dreams were finally coming true. It was now Clato. Not Glato.
