"Bakit mo ba ginagawa 'to?"
I finally had the courage to ask that. Because I think I deserve an answer to that.
"Dahil liligawan nga sabi kita."
"Kung liligawan mo lang ako dahil hindi ko alam ang tunay na meaning ng love, then you better stop. Hindi ka seryoso dito, Ace. Hindi mo ako mahal kaya bakit mo ako liligawan?" diretso kong sabi sa kaniya.
"Hindi mo sure," tawa niya na inirapan ko. "Naalala mo pa ba ang usapan natin dati? That we'll have another competition and you'll beat me?"
I slowly nodded.
"Ito na 'yun, Kylie. Beat me in this thing called love."
Napairap ako. "So, ano 'to? Paunahan tayo mafall, ganon? Tapos kung sino una edi talo?"
"No, hindi ganiyan. Edi matagal na 'kong natalo kung ganiyan pala."
Napalunok na naman ako dahil ano ba ang pinagsasabi ng lalaking 'to?! Umuurong ang dila ko dahil sa kaniya at hindi ko alam kung ano ang pwedeng sabihin.
Mas lalo niya akong inihapit papalapit sa kaniya at sobrang lapit na ng distansiya namin na halos hindi na ko makahinga.
"At the end of this academic year, you need to fall in love with me. If you fall, you'll lose. If I didn't make you fall, I'll lose."
I scoffed. "What kind of competition is this?"
"I know how much you hate losing, Kylie. So, beat me in this game by not falling in love with me. And I'll do my part because I'll surely make you fall in love with me."
Pinaningkitan ko siya ng mata. "You're unbelievable."
He pinched my nose softly kaya inilayo ko naman ang kamay niya sa ilong ko. "You in?"
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "Okay. Try harder, Ace."
