Hye-Rin's POV
I still can't believe she almost won the trial. Mr Lee was present and observed the trial. I'm in shambles...
As I walked out of the court, the reporters approached me and began asking me questions about the trial...
"Is it true, Mrs. Ahn, that you bribed people to keep your company number one?" The reporter asked for her microphone to be closer to me, which surprised me.
"Is it true, Mrs. Ahn, that you asked one of your employees to testify in the previous trial?" Another reporter with a long ponytail approached me, and the camera lights flashed in my face.
Just in time, that hazel-eyes, the prosecutor, and the rest of her friends emerged, and all the reporters flocked to her because I wasn't answering any of their questions...
"Is it true Attorney Choi, that the next trial is the final trial?" A reporter inquired, and the rest of the reporters were prepared with pen and notebook.
"Is it true Attorney Choi, that your witnesses in the previous trial were fake?" Another reporter inquired without hesitation.
"What exactly happened at the trial, Attorney Choi? Is Mrs. Ahn guilty?" A man in the audience asked her, and I gulped as I anticipated her response.
"According to this trial, there were some strong materials that proved Hye-Rin had bribed." Soo-Young replied as she put on her glasses and confidently faced each of them.
"Also, the truth will be revealed at the final trial, so please hold your horses." The prosecutor added with a stoic expression on his face and his lips pressed together.
"Are you confident you'll win this trial, Attorney Choi?" A reporter approached her as she narrowed her eyes at the hazel eyes, probably thinking she was overconfident.
The hazel eyes were aware that I was standing there, and we exchanged glances. I had a lot of thoughts racing through my head because I was contemplating what she would say. Even the reporters were waiting for an answer as we both stared at each other...
"I'll make sure the true perpetrator is imprisoned, and I'll win no matter what." She gave me an evil smirk, which made me nervous, and I can still feel it running down my spine.
I know one thing for certain: I'm going to prison. I simply walked away because I was embarrassed by myself, and I'm sure those reporters will start writing articles about me soon. As I approached my car, where my driver was waiting, I noticed Mr Lee approaching. He did attend the trial after all, and now he's here, which irritates me...
"Today must be a bad day for you, isn't it?" He smirked at me as he guffawed like a maniac, causing me to completely roll my eyes.
"I wouldn't be here today if it hadn't been for you." I retorted, giving him a dirty look. I was upset because he made me do everything, but in the end, I was the bad guy.
"Let's say you fell into my trap." He said it simply, compressing his lips and sighing as he was correct; I was a dumb mule back then.
"Why do you have to choose me? What have I ever done to you? Why do you need me for everything?" I became enraged and yelled at him, despite the fact that I had done nothing wrong to him.
