29th April 2012
I was on my way to the next appointment. An appointment with my dance coach. However, I still had 15 minutes left. Should I go downstairs quickly to get something to drink in the cafeteria?
Just as I was about to leave, I heard someone calling my name. I turned around and saw Bang Si-Hyuk. He was wearing a green shirt and gray pants. He was also wearing a gray jacket. I noticed the jacket immediately because it had a different shade of gray than the pants. But surprisingly, it went well with the pants and he looked pretty good in them.
Me: Good afternoon bang pdnim.
I bowed to him.
Pdnim: Hey Suri, are you in hurry?
I wondered why he was talking to me. Actually, only my teachers, the staff and the judges in the auditions talked to me. He had only talked to me once so far.
Me: No. My next appointment is in 10 minutes.
Pdnim: That's good. You know that you and Yujin are the only female trainees here. However, Yujin has decided to pursue an acting career and therefore has to change the entertainment so that you would be the only female trainee here. And I wanted to ask you if a solo career would be an option for you ...
A solo career? That didn't sound bad at all, because I could decide things myself and it would certainly be easier and a little quieter, but did I want that?
I meant, I've always wanted a group. The whole time I was imagining what it would be like to live with other people. To work with them and share common experiences.
It was similar with Yujin. We lived together and we did a lot together, but she always had different interests and always a different schedule than me. It was still nice with her. I imagined being in a group really well. What if I would get unhappy when I start a solo career? What if I would get lonely? What if I would get depressed?
Me: That sounds good, but to be honest, I prefer a group. I prefer to be part of a team. To be honest, I can't imagine going on a solo career, no matter how good it sounds or how unique the chance is.
Wait! If I'm the only female trainee now, do I have to change the entertainment too!?
Pdnim: Okay good to know.
Me: Sir, one question... Do I have to change the entertainment now as well?
Pdnim: No. You are smart and talented. We absolutely need people like you here. To be honest, I already have an idea, but we'll see. I have to go. Have fun training and good luck.
With that he left. What did he mean? Never mind. Oh crap! The dance training! I hope I'm not late.
...........................................................................
Fortunately, I got to the dance training in time. I quickly freshed up. I had to go to class in 5 minutes. Dealing with fans and the press.
Actually very interesting, but very difficult to implement. Sometimes they give me a situation to see how I react. Some situations are really tough. I can hardly imagine that there are people who throw around with mean words or asking very offended questions.
But after all you always had to act nicely. That was very important.
..........................................................................
The class was okay. I just checked what's next on my schedule. Suddenly someone taped me on the shoulder. Mr. Shin? He's the teacher I just had class with.
Me: Yes sir?
Mr. Shin: Suri, Bang Si-Hyuk asked me to tell you to go to his office. He canceled your next lesson on the schedule. So you are excused.
To his office? Maybe he would tell me what will become of me now.
Me: Thank you. We'll meet again the day after tomorrow. Have a nice evening.
Then I went.
..........................................................................
I was standing in front of his office. Should I knock or was I too early?
Me: Aish Suri, you're too nervous!
I talked to myself.
I must look pretty stupid when I just stood there and didn't even knock, which is why a male voice asked me if I was okay.
When I turn around, a boy was standing in front of me. He's a lot older than me. At least 17 or 18 years old.
Me: Yeah
I answered very quietly so that you can barely hear it.
???: What's your name, little one? And what are you doing here?
He smiled at me. It made me feel better.
Me: Suri, I'm supposed to pdnim.
He smiled.
???: Hey Suri. Are you a trainee here? I've never seen you on this floor before.
Me: Yes I am. I'm mostly one floor down.
I was still speaking quietly.
???: Well, just knock. Pdnim is certainly there. By the way, I'm Hoseok.
Me: Okay thanks.
He left and I finally knocked.
pdnim: Come in.
I entered. His office is bigger than expected. He had a few plants in the room. And it smelled pleasantly of fruits.
Pdnim: Ah Suri! There you are. Sit down. I want to make you a suggestion.
He pointed to the chair across from him and the table he was sitting at. I sat down.
Pdnim: I have a group that you could join. However, you have to pass a few auditions. These won't be easy. What do you think?
Which audition was easy? But sure. I could finally join a group.
Me: Sounds good. May I know how many there are?
Pdnim: At the moment there are still 5.
Me: Okay.
Pdnim: Your schedule would be invalid. I'll have the new one sent to you. So you can take the rest of the day off.
Me: Okay thanks.
After a few more formalities, I left his office.
I look at the clock. 7:24 p.m.!
Usually I was up until 2 a.m., so I wasn't tired at all.I was just thinking about what my group would be like. I was so excited to meet them all. I was considering doing something, but I decided against it because I didn't know how difficult the training would be tomorrow and so I decided to take a rest.
