75: The Day I Mended Bonds and Broke Ties

Emil's POV

Marcus stayed with me all night in the suite guarding us with possible trespassers who wanted to get information about Biya. Nyle left and went home when I got here last night with the promise of coming back here as soon as the jet lag wears off. The next day, more visitors came to visit. Earlier today, Luigi had finished setting up the fresh flowers in the room and has left.

"I'll be back later again, Sir." He said before going back to the company building. I spent an hour alone with Biya in the room. I already set the scented candles and even turned on the humidifier for her. I'll have to ask the doctor later about the scented candles since I don't know if that would be okay yet with the hospital protocols.

Percyla and Gio were the first people to visit. The moment the doors opened, she rushed to her sister's side with already puffy red eyes. I stepped away from them, giving them space. They both asked questions on what happened and how Biya was. I updated them with all I know and it brought Percyla to cry again but with her hands holding Biya's hand. It was a sight proving family was beyond bloodlines. Unfortunately, my own grandfather betrayed me and hurt Biya. A pat on my back brought my attention to Gio.

"Hey. How are you?" He asked before giving me a bouquet of white roses.

"I'm okay." I could only reply and he gave me a sad smile before patting my shoulder as if he was giving me comfort. I went to put the flowers near Biya's side.

"I'll have Luigi put those in a vase later." I told him.

"It's going to be okay." He said and I nodded at him, unable to trust myself on not breaking down if I speak more about what I felt. The emotions I had were overwhelming to the point that I felt like drowning. The thoughts inside my head were constantly giving me a headache. I could barely sleep last night thinking about her, the future, my grandfather, Martina and all the cases I had to put on to fight for everything I love especially Biya. Another knock on the door made me turn my attention and this time, Gabriel entered clad in his signature tailored black suit. He looked huge in the room with his now bulky muscles bunching up his clothes. I swear this man keeps on growing larger every single time I see him.

"Yow... Dude, you look... like a giant. What the fuck happened to you?" I couldn't help but ask as he went to stand beside us. His eyes went to Biya and he sighed, rubbing his nape.

"I'm fine. Just stressed out."

"You know the remedy for stress is sleeping, relaxing or some other things that do not require physical activity." Gio commented and he shot him a look.

"I'm training..." he replied and my other best friend shrugged.

"Whatever you say."

"We're almost standing in the same height but you really look..." he shot me a glare.

"like a walking ball of muscles with legs..." I trailed off and Gio couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle.

"How's Biya?"

"She hasn't woken up yet. The doctors are still monitoring her. She might need another surgery for her legs." I replied to Gabriel.

"Damn. She must have taken a bad blow."

"Her car looked like a smashed tin can." Gabriel commented and I raised a brow at him in curiosity. How the hell did he know?

"I checked..." He only replied without any further explanation. His job with his company was one that made him stand on his own and made his own name despite having to follow on his mother's footsteps as the company owner in the weapon industry.
