You Got Lucky

Almost 7 years later:

"Don't do it. Put it back right now." You say.

"But I want it mommy." Rebecca says. She's holding a toy in her hand.

"No. I'm not buying you anymore toys." You say.

"Please please please mommy." She says.

"No. Put it back." You say.

"Pwease mommy." She asks with puppy dog eyes.

"Ugh fine. Sometimes I hate that you have your fathers eyes. Make sure to get one for your brother." You say.

"Do you think Joey will like this one?" She asks.

"Yea that's a good choice for him, Becca." You say. She smiles and puts both toys in the cart.

"I'm glad I know my brother." She says. You chuckle.

The two of you leave the store and arrive at your house. You grab the bags from the back and unlock the front door.

"We're home!" You call out. You set the bags on the floor, bracing yourself for what's about to happen.

You see Bucky walk out and Joseph runs past him. "Mommy!" He yells.

"Hi baby." You say and pick him up.

"Daddy!" Rebecca yells. She runs to Bucky and he picks her up.

"Hi princess." Bucky says.

You walk over to Bucky still holding Joseph.

"Hi doll." Bucky says.

"Hi." You say. Bucky kisses you.

"Eww." Rebecca says.

"Yuck." Joseph says.

You and Bucky chuckle. You set them down and let them go play.

"Sam's coming over today for dinner by the way." Bucky says.

"Is he coming over to see us, or the kids?" You ask.

"Most likely the kids." Bucky says.

You giggle and kiss him. Bucky grabs the bags and puts them in the kitchen. You follow.

"You can go sit down. I'll put them away." You say.

"I don't mind doll." Bucky says.

"Daddy! Can we go play catch outside?" Joseph asks Bucky. He's holding a football in his hands.

Bucky looks at you. "Why are you looking at me?" You ask. Bucky shrugs. You sigh and roll your eyes. "Go play with your son." You say. Bucky kisses your cheek.

"Alright let's go Joey." Bucky says.

Rebecca comes into the kitchen. "Can I have my toy now mommy?" She asks. You reach into the bag and pull out her and Joseph's toy.

"Here you are my love." You say and hand her the toys.

"I'll put Joey's on his bed." Rebecca says.

"You do that." You say. She runs away back to her room.

A couple hours later, Rebecca and Joseph are in Joseph's room playing with their new toys. You and Bucky are sitting on the couch watching a movie.

"Uncle Sams here!" Sam calls out as he walks through the front door. Sometimes you regret giving him a key.

The kids run out screaming with excitement. They hug Sam. Sam picks up Rebecca and hugs Joseph.

"Hi guys." He says.

"Hi Uncle Sam." They say in unison.

You and Bucky stand up to greet Sam. "Hi Sam." You say.

"Hi." Sam says. You hug him.

Bucky and Sam hug next.

"How have you been?" You ask Sam.

"Good. We've all been good. I'm glad you guys are doing good." Sam says.

"We are too." Bucky says.

"Uncle Sam, can I show you the new toy mommy bought me today?" Rebecca asks.

"And the one she bought me?" Joseph asks.

"Sure." Sam says. He follows the kids.

"You bought them a new toy?" Bucky asks.

"She gave me the puppy dog eyes." You say. Bucky chuckles and kisses your forehead.

"What was I supposed to do? Say no to her?" You ask.

"Steve can't even say no to her." Bucky says.

"She's gonna be brutal when she's older isn't she?" You ask.

"Well, she is just like her mom." Bucky says.

"Hey I'm not that brutal." You say.

"Doll, the first time the avengers found you, you had killed four highly trained men. By yourself." Bucky says.

"It was five." You say quietly.

"Then you brought down half of the team." Bucky says.

"They weren't trying their hardest." You say.

"Trust me, they were." Bucky says.

The front door opens and Wanda and Vision walk through.

"Aunt Wanda and uncle Vision are here!" Wanda announces.

Like when Sam got here, the kids come running out. Screaming with excitement. Rebecca jumps into Wanda's arms, while Joseph hugs Vision.

Wanda kisses Rebecca's cheeks. You hug both Wanda and Vision.

"It's nice to see you guys." You say.

"Nice to see you too." Wanda says.

All of you go outside. Vision, Sam, Bucky, and Joseph start playing catch. Wanda entertains Rebecca with her magic. You sit down next to Wanda and watch as well.

"How are you and Vis?" You ask.

"We're good." Wanda says. She never only says two words, which confuses you.

"Wanda. What are you not telling me?" You ask.

"You can see right through me. We're thinking about adopting." Wanda says.

"Wanda that's great! You totally should." You say.

"I'm glad you think so." Wanda says. "Also thank you for making Rebecca's middle name Wanda." Wanda says.

"Wanda you say that every time you're here." You say.

"I know. And I'll keep saying it." Wanda says. You giggle.

"Mommy, when can I start fighting?" Rebecca asks.

"We'll start on Monday. How does that sound?" You ask. Rebecca jumps with excitement. She runs over to Bucky and wraps her arms and legs around his leg.

"Well, I'm about to raise a little assassin." You say.

"She has a thirst for blood, or something." Wanda says. You nod in agreement.

Bucky picks Rebecca up with his metal arm and holds her. He catches the football with his flesh hand.

"He's such a good dad. You got lucky." Wanda says.

"Yea I did." You say. "Vis will be a good dad."

Wanda smiles. "I know."

You giggle and turn your attention back over to Bucky.
