I wasn't sure what would be the clue to telling me that a certain apartment was the Governor's living space.

Was I looking for the heads in tanks that Michonne detailed?

Maybe a room with bars on the windows?

A giant 'stay out' sign on the door?

I had no clue. Sadly, that led to me having to go into buildings and get a closer look.

But, considering I only had one close call that I played off by 'sleep walking', I'd say I was doing better than I thought. The lady who saw me scolded a woman named 'Katherine' for always sleep walking, but I couldn't be bothered. I got away with it, that was the main thing.

The sun was just beginning to come up, sending me into a bit of a panic as I still hadn't found the right place. What would I have to do? Find a hiding spot, stay there all day, and try again at night? It simply sounded horrid.

Tip toeing into a new building, my eyes widen at the sight of all the medical supplies.

My hand brushes against one of the cabinets, seeing the sight of all the medications, bandages, and cleansing supplies. I could only dream of how much easier things would've been if we had things like this. Hershel's leg would've healed faster, for one. Carl and I's infirmary walk was nothing compared to everything in here.

The door opens, hurried footsteps stumbling inside. I jump, racing to hide behind one of the shelves.

"Easy.. Easy steps," someone coaxes- a woman's voice, "Steady breaths, now."

Someone sounded as though they were hyperventilating, two others helping them sit down on the bed.

"Rest here while I grab an extra inhaler. All right?" the same woman says before walking to the other side of the room and shuffling through shelves.

I place my hand on my gun, pressed so tightly against the wall that there was an ache in my neck.

"Here you go," the woman soothes.

A faint sound is heard before the struggling person takes a deep breath.

"That better?"

"Mhm," the sick person hums, taking slow and careful breaths.

"Go ahead and keep this one since your other is out. Keep it close by, okay?"

"Yes, Doctor."

The doctor chuckles a bit, "Since I'm up so early, I'm gonna do my runs to check on everyone. You just rest here for as long as you need."

"Thank you, Doctor Stevens," a new voice says- a guy's voice.

"That's my job. Take care, now," Doctor Stevens says.

After a few seconds, the door opens up and closes again, signaling the doctor's exit.

"You want to lay down, grandmother?" the other voice asks.

My ears perk up at the familiar language.

"No, I'm okay, sweetheart. It's good that the doctor had a spare," the grandmother assures.

The guy hums a bit, his footsteps trailing through to the same place the doctor was, "There's only a couple more.. Maybe I could ask to go on a run? Find some more?"

"There's no need for that. When we need more, we will find more. Okay, sweetheart?"

"Mm," he says, a frown to his tone.

"Could you help me up? I want to rest in bed a bit longer before breakfast."

The guy gives a short answer before their footsteps grow distant, the door once again opening only to close seconds later. I sigh in relief, dropping my hand back by my side.
