MAKNAE [twd]

【Alt Ending】

Hi and surprise! For the one-year anniversary of MAKNAE, I wanted to do something super special.

I've received quite a few comments about the alt ending, so I wanted to explain it as a thank you for the one-year anniversary.

The alternative began around the time of the Saviors.

The Saviors originally killed Ben and Daryl instead and it was Glenn that got up to once again protect Maggie that got Daryl killed.

Ben was the first pick because, as it is confirmed later, Ron told Negan that he was a weak point for the group and it would hurt everyone there. Especially since Rosita, Abraham, Jae, Glenn, and Maggie were there. So, Negan kills Ben first and teases Maggie for her being sick and so distraught over Ben dying beside her. Glenn then gets up and Negan punishes them by killing Daryl.

Glenn is the one brought to the sanctuary due to this, taking Daryl's role.

Of course, this is horrible for our team maknae and it tests all of their relationships- especially with Daniel still being injured and unable to lift the mood as he normally would.

Hana and Taeyang would temporarily break up because of all the fighting and arguing. Hana would have been so angry at everything and everyone that she actually lowkey blamed Maggie for it even though her getting sick was completely out of her control. This only made things worse between everyone and the only person that stuck by Hana would have been Jae since he is so destroyed over Daryl's death and is just lashing out at anyone and everyone.

Things then stay the same for the most part until Hana is taken to the sanctuary because of Ron and is forced to see Glenn being tortured by Negan and the others. At first, it begins to set her straight again until she and Jae are back together and his anger once again influences her.

The two then conspire to sneak into the sanctuary and kill Negan together. Which, they go and do successfully. (hence Jae being the first one to find her after killing Negan in the final published version)

Things even out after that and relationships are mended- including Hana and Taeyang and Hana and Maggie. Hana and Glenn are reunited by the end of that and everyone begins to heal.

Then, when the saviors began their attack on Hana for killing Negan, Gregory included, is when things changed again.

Originally, the saviors did in fact kill Hana when she was waiting at a picnic table for a date night with Taeyang. When Taeyang got off work, he would have found her at the table with her head down. When he touches her back, she falls over and it's revealed she's bleeding from a slit in her throat.

She's hardly hanging on and Taeyang absolutely panics. He begins yelling for help but even Hana knew she was too far gone to save.

Hana's final words were along the lines of: "He's the maknae.. Take care of him. I love you."

It was a line I tried to connect, her final concern being about Hershel as a sort of passing of the torch. She was the maknae, now Hershel is.

Taeyang has to put Hana down all by himself and carries her body to the main house crying and yelling for Jiyong and Glenn.

Everyone in the Rhee family then comes outside to see Taeyang on his knees with Hana's body in his lap. Everyone breaks down and that was the end of that chapter.

Afterward, it would have jumped to years into the future.

The conversation would open up between Taeyang and Hershel who was now about eight or nine. Taeyang had been telling him about his super cool aunt that loved him so much.
