Madelyn smiled up at me as she put her phone down. "I don't know what Chase told you earlier, but I'm just here to find out what the vibe is. Mallory is such a cool chick, and I just wanna know what's going on. I never really got the story from the beginning so, if you will, please start from there." She grinned.

I couldn't help but crack a smile at Madelyn's interest. I knew if I told her what was going on and how I was feeling, she'd be able to help me in some sort of way.

"So uh," I started as I scratched my jaw out of nervousness. "Remember around noon when I said I was heading to the store?"

Mads nodded in response. "You needed more ingredients to make Mama Jody's casserole. You were supposed to bring it over earlier." She clarified.

"Right," I nodded as I let out a chuckle. As much as I enjoyed making it, my friends loved when I made my mom's famous casserole. "I walked there because it was a beautiful day, and I absolutely hate that parking lot. So I get there, and turns out they're closed because they have no power." I told her.

"You're kidding." She playfully gasped.

"I wish I was." I pouted jokingly. "Anyways, I'm walking home now, and as I'm walking down Rodeo Drive, I looked down at my phone for the first time on my whole walk to let you guys know that there was gonna be no casserole today. And as I looked down at my phone, Mallory ran into me. Like full force ran into me. A-And we both fell to the ground. She ended up on top of me and as I looked up at her, I swear Maddie," I paused for a sec. I looked down and shook my head, almost embarrassed for what I was about to say. "I-I felt my heart skip a beat. I-I couldn't breathe for a sec. She literally took my breath away. As cheesy as that sounds, I've never felt that way when I saw someone for the first time before." I explained.

"Aw Drewww," She cooed with a smile plastered on her lips.

"I-I didn't want her to go away, I mean, this is a big ass city, I may have never seen her again. So when she asked me if there was anything she could get me, I invited her out for a drink. I wanted to know more about her. So that's why I was late to your place. A-And while we were talking, she was telling me about how she literally just moved here by herself. She has no friends or family, she doesn't even have a roommate." I told Madelyn. "You guys are my best friends a-and I felt like you guys were the perfect people to introduce her to. I-I know she knew who we were, but she didn't act like it, did she? She met every single one of us as if we were normal people. Not as if we were The cast of Outer Banks."

"That is very true." Mads nodded in agreement. "She was super calm and so kind."

"A-And I was just watching her with you and the girls all night and it seemed like you guys got along great. Every time I looked over at her, I couldn't help but smile." I mentioned as I thought about tonight, which resulted in me smiling.

"Aww, Drew's got a crushhh," She giggled.

I rolled my eyes trying to wipe the smile off my face. "So uh, I-I guess I'm telling you this b-because I need help o-or advice. Or both. I-I just don't know what to do. Was it weird for me to ask her out for a drink? Was it weird for her to bring her back to meet my friends? I-I mean we knew each other for barely two hours a-and I was already bring her over to meet you guys." I ranted.

"Drew," Madelyn said, now sternly looking into my eyes. "You are the sweetest guy I know. You are so kind to everyone that you meet. You're so quick to help anybody, just like you did with Mallory." She started and I had no idea where she was going with this. "That being said, in my three years of knowing you, I have never seen you act this way because of a girl. I've never heard you talk about a girl this way before and that's how I can tell this is genuine. You genuinely feel something for her, and with the way she looks at you, I can tell she genuinely feels something too." Mads explained and I couldn't help but grin at what she was telling me.

"Yeah," I breathed. "I-I just, I don't know what it is."

"And you will find that out soon enough." She sent me a genuine smile. "So, you took her home. That's good. What were the vibes on the ride to her place?"

"Well," I cleared my throat. "As soon as we left your apartment, she held onto my hand. A-And she didn't let go of it till we got to my car. And once I started driving, I offered her my hand to hold because I loved the way her hand fit in mine. I-It was like something I've never felt before. And so when I pulled up to her place, I offered to walk her up to her door but it was one of the first ones there, so she told me to just watch her. I-I really wanted to kiss her but I didn't want to make things weird. It feels too soon a-and I guess it'll happen when the time's right, but she kissed my cheek then left. And that was that."

"Oh my gosh," She gushed with a huge smile on her face. "To answer your question on whether doing those things were weird or not, trust me, if she didn't want to, she wouldn't have. I really think there's something there." She smirked as she sent me a nod.

"It's just the fact that I feel this way after not even knowing her for a few hours, and even at your place, I think she talked to you guys more than she talked to me." I chuckled.

"We gotta welcome our girl in." Mads shrugged as she giggled. "So when are you seeing her next?" She asked me as our laughter died down.

"Tomorrow."

"Interesting." She nodded. "Welp," She sighed as she now stood up. "I will see what I can do, and you can let me know how tomorrow goes."

"W-What? What are you talking about seeing what you can do? Mads you're supposed to be helping me."

"I will be helping you, in a way you don't know about." She smirked as she started walking towards my door.

"Mads, please don't say anything to her." I now walked over to her.

She opened my door before turning around and looking up at me, that smirk still placed on her lips. "No promises." She said softly before she quickly slipped out the door and closed it behind her.

"Don't make anything awkward!" I yelled.

"No promises!" I heard her repeat faintly as she was heading down the hall.

I leaned my back against the door, sighing, hoping that I didn't just ruin anything between Mallory and I by opening up to Madelyn.

Leaning against my door like this also gave me a solid view of my whole apartment, and I could see what Mads was talking about. If Mallory just so happened to come back to my place tomorrow for whatever reason, I couldn't have her come back to this mess.
