DREW'S POV

I picked Mallory up at four o'clock that afternoon, and she seemed so excited about something. I tried to get her to tell me how her day went, but she told me she wanted to wait until we got back to my place. Once we got back to my apartment, I opened a bottle of beer and Mallory cracked open a cold alcoholic seltzer to relax from the big day we both had.

I had prepared the dinner I was making for Mallory before I picked her up so all I had to do was throw it in the oven when we got home, which was exactly what I did. It had to bake for about forty five minutes, so that gave Mallory and I time to catch up.

I had put on a random playlist to play music in the background. Once I took care of everything, I stood on the other side of the island in the kitchen, facing Mallory.

"So," I started as I took a sip of my beer. "I need to know, how in the world did your first day go?" I chuckled, wanting to know what she was so excited to tell me.

She grinned as she looked down at her hands that were holding her White Claw, before she looked back up at me. "I found out I'm going to Charleston!" Mallory exclaimed and I gawked in surprise, not expecting that answer.

"You're going to Charleston?" I asked, making sure I heard her correctly. She nodded and I couldn't help but smile. "Why the hell are you going to Charleston?"

"To help the directors and producers get ready to film the third season of Outer Banks." She told me with a huge smile.

"No way," I gasped. "You're gonna be working for Outer Banks?" I asked her with a smile. "W-What do you mean? How? I-I mean, this is great! But I thought you were working here?" I asked, confused on how this happened.

"I thought I was too, but my boss told me they needed a production assistant in Charleston to help them get ready for filming, and I couldn't pass up that opportunity." She told me.

"That's so awesome!" I said, thrilled for her about this offer that she got. I felt even more overjoyed because I was going to be going to Charleston too, and we'd be able to see each other and hang out.

She told me more about her day and all the details of what her boss had told her about her new placement in Charleston. I was so excited for her, and she was so visibly elated. She had every right to be as excited as she was, but I just thought she was so cute with how cheerful she was.

"I wanna hear about your day!" Mallory exclaimed, now changing the topic. "What were you doing up at almost eight in the morning?" She giggled, referring to the text I sent her this morning.

"Well," I started as I took another sip of my beer. "You're not the only one who's going to Charleston next week." I grinned, teasing her with how my day went.

Her eyes widened and I could tell she knew what I was talking about. "No way." She gasped and I nodded. "You're going to Charleston too?" She questioned and I nodded again. "Shut up," She laughed, and I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that I didn't even say anything.

"I am, Chase, Mads, JD, Austin, Maddie, Rudy, all of us." I told her. "I was up early this morning because we had a meeting with our manager. We video chatted Jonas and he told us the news about OBX being renewed for a third season, so, it looks like we'll all be taking a flight out to Charleston on Monday." I explained.

"This is so exciting!" She cheered. "Of course I was excited to go out there and be apart of the OBX team, but I was lowkey bummed I'd be away from you and everyone else. Oh my God," She laughed in disbelief. "I can't believe we're all gonna go together."

When she said that she was bummed that she'd be away from me and the group she was now apart of, I couldn't help but smile, because that was exactly how I felt when I found out I'd be going to Charleston. I thought Mallory would be staying in LA, working at her internship, and I'd be in Charleston for weeks at a time. I was so excited to get back into the OBX life, but leaving Mallory was the first thought that came to my mind.
