DREW'S POV

I pulled up to Mallory's apartment at 8 o'clock that night, just like I said I would. I was nervous to see her, I was nervous for what we would talk about, but then again, that was the whole reason I wanted to see her tonight. I wanted to talk to her.

About a minute after I pulled up, I saw Mallory come out of her apartment, closing the door behind her before she walked up to my car. She got in and we greeted each other quietly before it fell silent, both of us staring at nothing in front of us.

"I'm sorry." We both said in unison after a minute, now looking at each other. A confused look on both of our faces before we spoke in unison again. "Why are you sorry?" We asked each other.

I couldn't help but smile at how we were in sync with each other. Mallory now cracked a smile, and I loved how both of our smiles were contagious. I made her smile and she made me smile.

"I'm sorry," Mallory now started, her smile now fading. "I-I'm sorry I didn't tell you I had a boyfriend. It's just," She sighed, pausing as she thought for a second. "Whenever I was with you, he wasn't a thought in my mind."

"You don't need to be sorry for that," I shook my head. "It shouldn't matter whether you're in a relationship or not. And it's not my business either." I told her. "I'm sorry for overreacting and not answering you. I shouldn't have acted like that."

A small smile was placed on her lips as she studied my face. I wanted to know what she was thinking about so badly. "It's okay." She nodded, now making eye contact again. "I'm just glad you finally answered me."

"Yeah," I nodded, not knowing what to say. I didn't want to go into full detail about why I hadn't answered her, I didn't want her to know that she had that kind of affect on me. "I uh, I just needed time to myself for a minute. Sometimes when I'm in too many social situations, I get burnt out and I just need to be alone for a bit." I told her, which wasn't a complete lie. Though I did love being around my friends, I also loved being alone.

"I get that," She nodded, seeming to understand my reasoning. "I'm the same way. Despite the side you saw of me last week, I do like to be alone, especially after being around people so much."

I couldn't help but smile at her response. I knew she got me. Even though I couldn't tell her why exactly I wasn't responding to her, I was content knowing that she accepted that excuse.

"So, where are we going?" She now asked me.

"Well," I breathed. "I was thinking we could just hang out. Maybe drive around for a bit. I-I don't know, we don't have to, I just-"

"Drew," Mallory cut me off as I began to stammer. I was felt nervous and I didn't know what I was saying. How was I going to tell her that the reason I i wanted to see her was so we could talk? I wanted to talk about this weekend, I wanted to find out more about her. "I'm down for whatever." She said with a soft smile. "Do you want to come in?" She asked, looking back at her apartment then looking at me again. "We can hang out, talk, watch a movie, whatever. I don't wanna waste your gas. I think I've done enough of that the past few days." She lightly giggled.

"You're not wasting my gas." I told her. "I actually have an idea," I started.

"Oh yeah?" She raised her eyebrows.

"Yeah," I chuckled, knowing exactly where to take her.

I put my car in drive and pulled away from her apartment as I began driving down the street. Mallory put on her seat belt and we made small talk as I drove throughout the city. I had a special spot in mind, and I just had a feeling she would love it like I did.
