chapter three
{ unedited }
ALICE HAD TOLD JOHNNY AND STELLA ABOUT THE SEX CLINIC AND THE FIRST THING THEY DID WAS LAUGH IN HER FACE. In their words, Alice would be a horrible therapist since she dislikes everyone in this school and doesn't care about their personal lives. They thought it made more sense when they found out she wasn't going to be talking to anyone.
Alice went to school early that morning to check out some books in the library for her art project to research on other artists when Maeve popped up at her desk. "Didn't take you for an art freak," she commented, making Alice aware of her existence.
Alice's lips tugged into a small smile as she looked up at her, leaning back in her seat. "Can I help you with something? Please, take a seat," she added sarcastically when Maeve didn't move or say anything.
"Where's Otis?" Alice's smile dropped as she rolled her eyes, her attention going back to her book about Francis Bacon, a painter known for making unsettling art out of abstract figures. It wasn't what Alice normally did but she wasn't opposed to trying new things. Isn't that what sixth form was about?
"No clue."
"He's your brother," Maeve pointed it out as she sat down opposite Alice.
"Yeah, no shit captain obvious. We're not exactly close."
