IT WAS THE FIRST DAY OF TERM AND ALICE WASN'T EXACTLY FEELING ANYTHING. She may be slightly tipsy as she walked towards the school but she thought maybe that was a good thing since she had planned on talking to Stella and Johnny today for the first time in weeks.
After the talk with Maeve at the mall, Alice had turned on her phone and answered all the texts she had gotten and asked her two old friends if they could meet her during lunch today. They both had said yes instantly but, instead of feeling nervous or scared, Alice didn't feel a thing.
"There's a plague!" Someone yelled as they ran in Alice's direction the second she walked into the school. Alice had barely taken five steps in when that person grabbed onto her shoulders, pulling her down to face them. "Don't let them breathe on you."
"What?" She asked but the person was already gone, screaming to everyone who would listen. Alice's confusion only doubled when seeing people rushing around the school wearing masks and bumping into each other talking about some sort of outbreak.
"Hey," Stella said as she and Johnny came in her direction, Johnny wearing a face mask. Alice looked up at them, unsure if she should smile at them or not. "There's a chlamydia outbreak, everyone's got it apparently."
