ALICE AND MAEVE HAD YET TO GO ON THEIR DATE. Maeve was busy with her mum and sister staying with her and Alice with getting a hang of working at Maria's bakery as a way to pay her rent, though Maria had said it wasn't necessary, and the two hadn't even been able to plan where they would be going. All Alice knew was that Maeve was the one who wanted to take Alice somewhere and refused to let Alice plan or pay for anything. Maeve had insisted, actually, saying she was the one who asked so she would be the one to 'prepare' it.

Alice ran down the stairs to the bakery with her helmet on and the spare one under her arm, already late to pick up Aimee on her way to the school. The three times already she had been late and met Aimee on her way there. Today she was planning on picking up Aimee at her house so that she didn't have to hurt her feet walking.

"Breakfast," Maria said as Alice ran past, holding out a bag for Alice. Maria had learned over the past week of Alice staying here that the girl never ate breakfast and had decided to try and change that by handing Alice something she could eat once she got to school. "I packed something for your friend too." Alice thanked her from beneath the helmet and placed the bag in her school bag before leaving the shop.

It didn't take long for Alice to arrive at Aimee's house, ten minutes at most, and she rang the doorbell on the closed gates. "Hello?" Aimee's voice came through the speaker and Alice was relieved she hadn't left yet.
