ALICE BANGED AGAINST THE DOOR TO JOHNNY'S HOUSE, YELLING FOR HIM TO COME OUT. Maeve had told her everything that happened on the day of their date―of how Johnny told Maeve to stay away from Alice if she ever cared about her. It was bullshit. That was what Alice believed. It was all bullshit.
Johnny opened the door, ushering away his dad who had been woken up by all the banging and turned to Alice with a scowl. Normally Alice would apologise for waking his dad but she was too angry to care about that. "What―"
"What the fuck, Johnny!?" Alice yelled, hitting him as hard as she could against his chest, satisfaction rising when he stumbled back. Even much shorter than him and a lot weaker, a strong enough push to his chest and he banged into the wall. "You told Maeve to stay away from me?"
"What are you―oh. That." Johnny sounded indifferent about it as he ran his hand across his face, too tired to even try to sound sorry about it and made Alice sick.
"That's it? Oh? Why the fuck would you do that?" Alice tried to keep her voice down even when angry, not wanting to get on Johnny's dad's bad side. "You ruined everything."
