chapter thirty seven
{ unedited }
MAEVE WAS CONFLICTED EVER SINCE ALICE HAD SHOWN UP AT HER CARAVAN. She was beyond confused about what Alice had said to her when she went to get her book and jacket back and hasn't been able to stop thinking about it since. Maeve had wanted to talk to Alice since then even though she wanted to. When Maeve had decided to do so, she backed out when seeing Ruby kiss Alice in front of the school.
She got out of the car when Aimee pulled up, lucky to not have gotten into any accidents on the way there. She closed the door and peeked over when Ruby parked up. "They're really a thing now," Aimee said as she watched Alice jump out of the car and take Ruby's hand before walking into a school. Maeve hummed, nodding as Steve got out the back of the car. "Sure you're okay?" The blonde asked, turning to Maeve.
"Yeah, I'm fine, honestly." Maeve turned away from the new couple when they walked into the school, turning to Aimee. Maeve knew how much Alice hated people touching her or being around her and yet here she was holding Ruby's hand in front of the whole school.
It was weird. It only added to her confusion on what was going on with Alice. She wasn't acting like herself and she had gone back to getting high constantly. Maeve felt like she had a duty to talk to Alice about it but it was too late now.
