An Inventor and Karaoke [10]

''Where do we start...?'' Yashin asked, rhetorically as the duo panned the huge city in front of them.

''I'm sure Andi could help us, right?'' Jiyu answered the question not originally meant to be answered as Yashin sighed, closed her eyes and looked up in a moment of sanity. ''Yeah, Hopefully.'' Yashin replied as she looked straight ahead of her once again and lead the way to a taxi to take them back to Ship n' Stuff.

''The name's Andi Kerbrone, Welcome to Ship n' Stuff, How may I help you?...'' Mr Kerbrone started his regular speech as he looked up from his newspaper to see the two girls again. ''Oh, It's you again. What do you need now?'' he exhaled as Jiyu asks, ''Do you know anyone that can travel on a busship with us to help our friend fix a ship?'' Jiyu and Yashin stand in a patient stance as Andi thinks for a moment and finally replies, ''There's a local inventor. If she's not at home working on her machines then she's restocking her caffeine supply at a coffee shop downtown called 'Xtra Suga'. Dumb name, I know. The manager there is even dumber but he wouldn't be working at this time. It'll be a miracle if you run into her by the time you get there.'' he finished as Jiyu held a big smile, and Yashin thanked him. Then Jiyu realised something... ''Wait. How are we gonna ask her to help us, as strangers?'' Yashin frowned as she was about to say something but got cut off by Andi. ''Tell her I sent you.'' he didn't speak a single word after that and just continued to read his newspaper. ''Oh... Thanks, Mr Kerbrone!'' Yashin exclaimed as she dragged Jiyu out and down the road to where Xtra Suga was conveniently stood.

''Pretty sign!'' Jiyu stared at the neon pink and blue sign lighting up the cafe in front of them. As the two were about to enter, someone else with dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes along with rusty copper goggles laying atop her head had exited, which lead the three girls to bump into each other and fall. ''Eh-! Second time today!'' Jiyu exclaimed annoyed as the familiar girl stood up in a rush and said ''Sorry! Don't mind me, just passing through!'', Yashin helped Jiyu up as she said, ''It's okay!- Hey wait, Are you an Inventor, by chance?'' the girl looked at Yashin for a split second and then said with a grin, ''Yep! I'm an inventor, But not by chance. I chose to do what I do!''. Jiyu's tail started to sway from side to side as she burst out with the words that Yashin was thinking, ''We're friends of Mr Andi Kerbrone! We were looking for you, Could you help us?''. Not startled by the outburst that was Jiyu's question, The girl immediately introduced herself and agreed to help before knowing what she could help with. ''Of course, I can help! A friend of Andi's is a friend of mine. I'm Akarui! What're your names?'' Akarui stared bright-eyed at the two as they introduced themselves. After the introductions, the three went inside Xtra Suga and had a drink, generously paid for by Akarui. 

''So... We have a friend in Crystopia who really needs an inventors help with fixing his ship. If his ship isn't fixed, we can't continue our adventure.'' Yashin explained as she stopped to sip her coffee.  ''I see... Crystopia, huh? Haven't been there in... a few weeks. I travel a lot for materials for my inventions, y'see!'' Akarui says as she's already chugged her coffee down. No wonder she's so energetic... ''Yeah, Well one problem, actually. Yashin, How are we supposed to get back to Crystopia? We kind of spent all of our money on those books...'' Jiyu mentions as it comes to everyone's attention that it'll be hard finding the money for a busship back to Crystopia. 

After a good hot drink, and the rest of Akarui's pocket money, it becomes darker outside as the sun goes down. ''Crap... What are we gonna do?'' Akarui curses to herself as she looks at the falling sun. 

Suddenly, there came a loud opening of a creaky door coming from an alleyway next to where the three were walking. Jiyu's ears perked up and she snapped her neck looking over, catching the attention of Yashin and Akarui. There was a man with a black fedora and purple suit. He was on the phone venting when he threw his phone from his ear in frustration. ''Good for nothin' performers! Where am I gonna find two capable singers at this time?!'' he said and as soon as Akarui heard it, she dragged Yashin and Jiyu towards him and said, ''These two can sing for you! If we can get enough money for three busship tickets?''. He looked up surprised and asked Yashin and Jiyu, ''Are you good singers?'' as Jiyu stuttered trying to say and Yashin translated, ''Uh, I mean yeah... But-''  Yashin was cut off as the man whose name was known as Mr Shinto led the three inside.
