Jinxing the Situation [36]

With Meredith's help, Jiyu, Linette, Cyrus and Seiko go to Khojumeno Coast to talk to its leader about fighting Itazura, and of course, to collect and protect the next gem of power.

Akarui and Pico volunteered to stay back with Yashin as she recovered. Luckily for our current four, Khoju wasn't too far from Nahrahka Island.

Suddenly, whilst sorting through a bunch of crates, Meredith screams as she jumps at the sight of a stowaway. Jiyu, Linette, Seiko and Cyrus heard and ran straight to her in the storage room to find Jinx sleeping in an empty food crate. 

Jiyu looked at Jinx in annoyance and said, ''Jinx, what the hell! If you wanted to come with us, you could have just asked.''. Ignoring the fact Jiyu knew Jinx, Meredith said in sorrow, looking upon her empty crates and crying out, ''That's where my supplies were going...''. Jinx jumped at the sudden voices and exclaimed, ''OH, You've found me- Hah, Oh well.'' Jinx giggled slightly before Seiko offered a hand to get out of the crate to which Jinx took it. Linette thought for a moment and then asked, ''Oh, so are you the God of Chaos that Jiyu told us about?'', ''Yep! That'sa me, Jinxio!'' Jinx continued to giggle as they introduced themself. Cyrus didn't give much of a reaction as he then reminded everyone, ''We should get going. We've got a lot to do here, after all.'' Linette and Seiko nodded as Meredith sighed and continued to sort out the rest of her crates. Jiyu also sighed, letting her tail rest around her waist. 

Jinx followed them out and onto the docks, followed by the roads with multiple street signs to direct them. At one point, they got lost and stumbled into a weaponsmith shop named 'Fierce Twins' Workshop'. Linette turned to the others and said, ''Rest out here, I'll go in and ask for directions.'' Cyrus added, ''I'll go in too. Just in case.'' Linette smiled and waved a temporary goodbye to her friends.

Inside was incredibly steampunk looking, with plenty of weapons and cool gadgets scattered around the entire workshop. A girl with pink hair looked up from behind a workbench and said, ''Oh, Hi there! I'm Sweet, welcome to the workshop!'' she took off her gloves and put her glasses on her head as Linette and Cyrus walked over to her and Linette asked, ''Do you know where we can find Khoju Coast's leader? Or the Khoju nation's gem?'', ''Hm, I don't know about a gem but I can go get the lieutenant quick! Her name's Lieutenant Lou! Don't worry, it's a small city so I know where to find her!'' Sweet replies as she runs off quickly.  Linette looks back at Cyrus and says rhetorically, ''Did that just happen-'' as Cyrus shrugs.

Suddenly, no more than a minute later, Sweet came back in but with no one following her and with blue hair. Linette tilts her head in confusion as she asks, ''When did you have time to dye your hair, Sweet...?'' Cyrus watches from behind Linette, hand over his sword just in case. The girl that looked like Sweet looks at them in shock, thinking for a moment before then saying in a relaxed tone, ''Oh-! I'm Sass, Sweet's twin! It's in the name of the workshop!'' she then reached for a shelf and got a metal slab out along with a few tools, laying them on a workbench. ''I'm not sure where Sweet's ran off to but I can help you if you came to shop, or make? Perhaps work?'' the blue-haired Sass says. Cyrus stood tall once more as he answered, ''Actually we needed to speak to Lieutenant Lou about an urgent matter. Sweet's just gone to get her.''. Sass simply nodded, putting her goggles on, mask up and getting to work on the metal slab. However, Sweet came back, still alone. ''I don't suppose there's a third one of you...?'' Linette joked, hoping for simplicity. ''Ah, so you've met my twin sister! Nope, just the two of us. Lou said to meet her back at her office! I can show you the way but I'll have to head straight back here after!'' Sweet spoke quite fast as she held the door open for the two.

While heading back outside, Linette, Cyrus and Sweet heard Jiyu, Seiko, Meredith and Jinx debating what goes first; milk or cereal? but the minute they noticed Linette and Cyrus, they greeted them. ''Oh, hey! Who's this?'' Seiko smiled wide as he said hello to Sweet. ''I'm Sweet! Me and my twin sister run this workshop! It's nice to meet you!'' she introduced herself to the two as they did so back. After a small explanation, they followed Sweet to a highly guarded factory-like building. On the way inside, which felt somewhat like a maze, Jiyu asked Jinx, ''So why did you decide to come with us?'' to which Jinx smiles devilishly and replied, ''Don't think it's because I'm your ally. I just like to watch the story unfold from the more interesting perspective.''. Jiyu rolled her eyes at their answer. ''Cryptic as ever, eheh...'' Jiyu says under her breath with a slight laugh as she caught up with the others and continued their walk.

''Don't worry, the Lieutenant can be intimidating but she's a good person! She'll show you to the apartments afterwards. See you guys later!'' Sweet said as she pointed to a door with the Lieutenants name on it and ran off, waving. Seiko spoke up, ''I guess this is it...'' as Meredith added, ''Yeah, I guess so. I've personally never met the lieutenant, which is weird since I've visited Khoju many a time.'' Meredith finishes as Jiyu knocks on the door. A stern and somewhat annoyed voice rang out, ''Enter.''. Jiyu then opened the door, tail around her waist as she gulped and walked in. The voice, which came from a tall lady with short black hair, spoke again, ''And what brings such a colourful group to my office?''. Noticing his friends' worried faces, Seiko stood forward and explained, ''The current leader of Kwamslak, Itazura, is gathering all Ro'lyn's gems of power. I'm not sure if you know but if all gems are together, being used for evil then the world will be destroyed. We wanted to know if you could help us fight Itazura... or at least give us your gem to protect from Itazura's grasp.'' Cyrus smiled at Seiko's confidence as Lieutenant Lou crosses her arms and leans back on her chair. She then responds with, ''You think I don't already know about Itazura? Khojumeno Coast has been highly guarded since we've heard word on Itazura's arrival. The former president of Kwamslak is missing and the news of the Crystopian Queen along with Mount Equiya has reached the entirety of Ro'lyn.'' she snapped. Jiyu's tail fur spiked up with irritation as she snapped back, ''I'm sorry, ma'am but we just want to help! You cant-'' Jiyu was cut off by Lou. ''I know. For that, you have my appreciation but it's too late to get anything done tonight. I'll have one of my men escort you to the apartments if you have nowhere else to stay. The receptionist will take care of the rest.'' she finished, shooing them out with a guard following behind them. ''Thank you!'' Linette smiled as she said awkwardly, showing appreciation for the help.

The guard showed them inside a tall, pristine white apartment building. He saluted the squad and left as Meredith was about to walk out and said, ''You can do what you want but I'll be sleepin' in me darlin' Shora! G'night, crew!''. They said goodnight to her and Jiyu and Linette ran up to the reception, asking for their rooms. The receptionist was a pretty lady with silky, straight black hair. On her black sweater laid a golden badge with the name 'Lilith' on it. Linette was the first to speak, ''Hello Miss! We'd like 3 rooms, please? One for the boys, one for Jinx and one for us two.'' Jiyu smiled and nodded as she witnessed Linette hand the lady an unlimited credit card... Well, it's easy to forget that Linette is a princess. ''Here are your room keys! Enjoy the stay!'' the receptionist named Lilith smiled and waved as the group thanked her and all went to their rooms. 

The rooms were all the same but in the one Seiko and Cyrus were staying in, had a single big bed. They didn't mind sharing, though. Before falling asleep, Cyrus spoke in a thoughtful yet sad tone, ''Hey, Seiko... Do you think we're gonna be different or... die, by the end of this journey?''. Seiko thought for a moment and lightened the mood with a joke, ''Well, You guys are smart enough to stay alive. But I don't need smarts! For I, am a Zombie! This means I can't die twice, right!'' he laughed as Cyrus gave a chuckle, ''Haha, right!''.

And so, they all snoozed off, waiting for what would seem like a long day.
