I sat up in bed, blinking.

"Peter?" I asked.

"Peter's asleep." I tuned to see Alina in the armchair near my bed, she had a book in her lap. "I can wake him if you like."

"I think you should wake everyone." I said.

"Why?" She was suddenly concerned.

"Loki and Roara. They're alive."

Tony Stark did not appreciate being woken up at 1 in the morning and it took him three coffees to be in a state to talk to anyone.

"Why didn't you come and get me." Steve was saying to Alina.

"I was about to." She whispered back. "And then she woke up and dropped that bombshell on me."

We were sat in the living room, half the people gathered were in their sleeping clothes. Thor looked strange in a T-shirt and tracksuit pants.

"What did you see?" Thor asked me, setting a cup of coffee in front of me.

"A cave." I said. "Roara teleported out of the building as it fell, but I didn't see that. I saw her as she woke up in a cave and had to crawl through a lot of small spaces. I think she was badly injured. Her powers weren't working very well, but she managed to crack open a wall and there was Loki. He was out cold, the knife still in his leg. She managed to clean it out and used heat from her hands to seal the wound back up. She fell over and split her nose open because she couldn't walk properly. Then Loki woke up and they talked for a bit, she cried, then she punched him. Might have been the other way around, she might have punched him first and then cried."

Alina snorted slightly into her coffee. "No, please, carry on." She waved her hand. "Just a very Ro thing to do."

"They mostly just talked really. Roara explained how they got out, which is how I know she teleported them. They talked about Fiona." I swallowed. "So this must have been recent, for them everything at the building had just happened, so it wasn't like..."

"A live feed?" Peter guessed.

"Yeah. Loki's leg was healing well, but Roara's leg wasn't." I finished and sighed and took a drink of my coffee. "They bickered like an old married couple."

"That sounds like Roara and Loki to me." Sam smiled.

"They kept saying how much they hated and annoyed one another too, but then kept doing nice things for each other." I shook my head.

"Sounds like Roara and Loki." Steve sipped his drink.

"Thanks." Bucky said coldly.

"Okay, look, did you get any indication of where they were?" Alina asked.

I shook my head. "Not really." I sighed. "She said they might be in Canada, but Loki said they might be in Vana... Vana..."

"Vanaheim." Thor said for me.

I nodded.

"So do we go to Vanaheim or do we go to Canada?" Bucky asked.

"Neither." Alina said. "We go to neither."

"What do you mean?" Thor said, looking towards her.

"I mean," She put down her mug, "we stay right where we are. Wherever we go now will lead the Ascendency right to them, or they'll be waiting on our return. We have to let them come to us. We know they're alive now, and they're both resourceful."
