"Yeah, you think you're funny right? You think you're super sly, flirting with them but telling me you're mine."
. . .
Nicholas doesn't look too happy the next morning when we all go into the car. His eyes tell me that I'm in a lot of trouble as soon as he's seen Reed.
I only send him a sweet smile in return and get in the backseat, along with Donia and Reed while Stella occupies the front.
I start staring out of the window when I see Stella put her hand on top of Nicholas' once he starts driving away.
Stella starts talking to Reed and Donia. But I don't hear what she's asking or what she's talking about. I just want to distract myself.
The drive towards the airport goes by fast, and sooner than I realize, we're there and getting out of the car.
My eyes meet Nicholas', and I just know he's pissed about Reed. I can tell by the clench of his jaw and the fire in his eyes.
Two can play this game.
Not sparing him another glance, I walk up the stairs on the private jet, after Stella. The jet is big and spacious, with even a bedroom in the back.
To which Stella is headed.
I get a lump in my throat, realizing I could never lean up and kiss Nicholas like a normal person. Because I'm the side-piece. A secret.
I frown, not knowing what I'm doing here.
But then, I feel a warm touch on the small of my back. A big hand, covering most of my back.
"Move, angel," Nicholas whispers in my ear.
For one split second, I let myself lean back into him, before getting myself together and walking further into the luxurious jet.
That one touch reminded me of why I'm here. And it's ridiculous.
I take a seat by the window, putting my bag beside me, and lean back. Donia takes a seat in front of me and Reed next to me.
I don't need to look over my shoulder to know that Nicholas is headed into the bedroom, with Stella.
Are they going to spend the entire flight in there? Are they going to fuck? Surely not. Not with guests aboard, at least.
I grow nauseous at the thought of the two of them having sex.
You brought this upon yourself.
The flight attendant is friendly, asking us if we want something to drink or if we need anything else.
I ask for a glass of water and some peanuts, wanting to have something in my system since I didn't eat this morning.
During take-off and the first twenty minutes in the air, we don't hear a lot from Nicholas and Stella.
Donia sends me a sympathetic look when she looks at me. "It's okay," she mouths and leans over, giving my hand a squeeze.
Reed seems to notice my unease and frowns. "Everything okay?" he asks.
"I'm just a bit nauseous," I chuckle, taking a large gulp of my water. "I used to get sick on planes too. I have medicine for nausea, want one?" he asks.
I nod, and happily take one since I'm feeling like throwing up. But not for the reason he thinks.
"I'm going to take a nap," I say and notice some blankets laying on the other couches. I go to take one and go back to my seat, planning on reclining it.
