AUTHOR'S POV

"So where's the party at?" Graham shouted as he and his son walked into Luciano's meeting room.

"Have a seat Graham." Enzo chuckled and the father and son duo made themselves comfortable in their chairs.

"It's good to see you again Mr Romano." Keon spoke, his voice holding respect. "But we'd like to know what's the deal with this emergency meeting."

"That'll be explained soon." Enzo nodded as more men joined them for the meeting.

"Good. Because I don't like being in the colonizers' country." Graham argued and his son chuckled.

The room was soon filled with the chatter of various men but it all died down once Luciano entered with Kelsey. Everyone respectfully bowed their heads as they both made their way further into the room. Alexei, Mila and the others following behind.

"Ah Graham." Luciano announced, shaking the man's hand. Kelsey's ear peaked at the mention of her surname.

"It's good to see you again Romano." Graham smiled before releasing Luciano's hand. "And who is this pretty lady?"

"This is my fiance, Kelsey." Luciano smiled, urging Kelsey as Graham pushed his hand out for a handshake. "Amore, this is Mr Graham. One of our main cannabis providers."

Kelsey took his hand and for some unknown reason she quickly let go. She had this feeling inside, she couldn't tell what it was. Only that it was confusing.

"Meet my son, Keon." Graham ushered to the young man and he waved. Kelsey just nodded.

For a few seconds, Graham stared at her face intensely. It was as if he was trying to figure out a rather challenging puzzle, until whatever he was looking for clicked.

"You remind me of someone." Graham announced as he stood up, taking a closer look at the young lady's face.

"Really?" She asked, feeling uneasy.

"Yes." Graham stated blankly.

"And who might that be?" Luciano asked, pulling his fiance closer to his side. Although he knew Graham wouldn't try anything, he was still overly protective of Kelsey and would always be.

"My ex wife, my son's mother." He laughed bitterly. "She was a real piece of work I tell you. I married her at a young age and when Keon was three she ran off with her little sterile junky boyfriend."

"Really?" Kelsey asked, an unusually nervous sensation covering her.

"Mhmm." Graham chuckled. "Haven't heard from her since and it been like nineteen years now. I assumed she's doing well because she almost put my ass out of business. Can you believe the little rat had the nerve to run off with almost half my money."

Everyone was staring at them as Graham told his story. And Kelsey found herself thinking of her mother. Luciano could sense her timidness and wrapped his arm around her waist, in an effort to comfort her.

"What was her name?" Luciano asked out of the blue and the man's answer had Kelsey's knees buckling.

"Kayonna." Graham stated dryly. "That woman was the love of my life."

"You have to be fucking shitting me." Kelsey grumbled loudly, pinching the bridge of her nose.

How more cliche yet unexpected could things get.

There was a high chance that he was talking about her mother, and he could possibly be her father.

"Kayonna what?" Luciano asked.
