We had a fairly good start to 2021. We won most of our games, and were neck and neck with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the ladder. It felt good being successful my first year at the club, but I knew we wanted to win the league. We all did.

As Sam and I sat beside each other, after our training before our game against Everton on the weekend, I noticed that she wouldn't stop smiling.
"What's got your bubbles bursting?" I said to her, laughing.
"Oh, nothing," she replied, still smiling hard.
"Come on! Tell me."
"Ok, ok," Sam said, coming closer, and whispering into my ear, "Kristie is coming over."
"WHAT!" I screamed. All the girls looked over at me, confused, but Sam and I both laughed.
"Shh!" Sam said.
"That's so exciting!"
"I know, I'm so excited."
"Are you going to ask her?" I said to Sam, insinuating Kristie possibly becoming her girlfriend. She nodded her head, blushing hard. "I love that." Thinking about Sam and Kristie, made me only think of Leah. She was now my Leah. She stayed at my apartment every day, and made me smile the biggest grin I had in a while. We both agreed to keep it a secret. I didn't want Keira to know, and Leah didn't want to display anything to the world while everyone thought her and Jordan were still together. Sometimes, secrets can be fun, even if they annoy you to the core.

I left training, and Sam dropped me home. She saw Leah's car outside my apartment, and asked about it.
"Who's car is that?" Sam asked.
"Leah's," I replied, honestly. There would be no point in lying about that obvious fact.
"Were you expecting her?"
"Yeah, I was," I said, smiling. I could tell Sam was suspicious, but I left it, and thanked her for the car ride before going upstairs.

As I walked through the doors, I saw her there. She was sitting on the couch, on her phone, her blonde hair tied up, wearing her Arsenal training gear. Sometimes, it is annoying that she plays for the rival. Arsenal and Chelsea have one of the biggest rivalries in all of the football world.
"Hi," I said to her, before putting my bags down.
"Hey," she said back, putting her phone down. I walked over to her before sitting on her lap, and placing my arms around her neck. Her arms wrapped around my waist before leaning into me, placing her lips on mine. I don't think I'll ever get used to this. Something about Leah makes me feel nervous but excited at the same time.

I made her dinner, as she sat at the table, doing some work for Arsenal. Although not captain, Leah's always been vital to the functioning of the team, and often does a lot of work outside of training hours.
"You're a work horse," I said to her, as I placed her tea in front of her.
"And you're amazing," she replied, smiling at me, before squeezing my hand slightly.

"I want to come to your game on the weekend," Leah said to me, softly. She was versing West Ham on the Saturday, whereas I was playing on the Sunday.
"Oh do you?" I said to her, smiling.
"Yes," she replied, blushing, "I want to check out the competition for the CB position on the lionesses." She was joking as she said this, knowing I play left back for the Lionesses anyways.
"Well, I'm playing Everton, so hopefully we bag the win."
"I'm sure you will."
This made me smile, and although she probably shouldn't want Chelsea to win, as she wants Arsenal to have the greatest chance at winning the League, she still wanted me to do well. My heart is settled, and it's hers.

As we lay in my bed, her hands tangled with mine, I whispered to her.
"You know you basically live here."
"Yeah, I have come to realise that."
"We can be "roommates,"" I said, chuckling.
"Is that what we are? Roommates?" Leah replied, laughing.
"Yes, only roommates."
"Well, I'd love to be your roommate," Leah said, touching my cheek with her hand.
"And I'd love to be yours." She leant in and kissed me, and somehow, I felt so at peace, so happy. Everything was somehow falling into place.
