The rest of the day passed smoothly and even though my giddiness had dwindled it had not completely gone.

"Hey princess" I greeted Alice with a kiss on her hard cheek

"How was your day" she smiled

"Good, come I want to show you something" I knew I had to tell her now or I never would

I took her ice-cold hand in mine, her rock hard skin not affecting me anymore. I took her deep into the woods retracing the secret paths, I had done this, years before except then I was sitting in the Hogwarts library tracing the paths with my finger dreaming of the day I would beagle to take my love through these paths. I lightly push the overgrown branches out of my way careful not to knock a single leaf. There was a peaceful air hanging around.

We finally got to the edge of a small cliff neatly hidden by trees "how did I never know that this was here" Alice said taking in her surrounding

"They are protected by magic so nobody knows except Hogwarts students who read the books behind the last shelf on the right" I explained, I took a large and undeeded exhale before joining Alice on the edge

"What's wrong otter," Alice asked worry socking her face

"I need to tell you something, something that I have been terrified to tell you about," I said earnestly as I drop my gaze

"Hey hey, it's alright it's it's just me you can talk to me" as usually Aliceskind and calming words made me instantly break down "breath, why don't we just sit down" with her hands clasped around mine she guided me, tot, he edge of the cliff helping me sit down. I refused to look up and meet Alices eye "Hermione please look at me"

"Do you promise not to hate me" how could I verbalise my train of thought like this I quickly looked up at Alice who now had a look of hurt on her face

"Oh baby how could I ever hate you" she tightly wrapped her arms around me as if I was about to slip away forever

I rolled up my sleeve revealing my biggest embarrassment, the hideous "MUDBLOOD' scar. "I have seen it," she said she placed her hands over the gnarled lettering

"I need to tell you how I got it"

"You don't have to tell me if you if don't "

"I know but I want to tell you" I professed picking up her hands planting a light kiss on the back of them

"During the war, Harry Ron and were captured but some death eaters and taken to their headquarters called Malfoy Manner, I had a sawed in my bag that I had magically placed extension charm on it" I quickly explained the confused looked that dawned over Alice's pixy like features "I was questioned about it by a notorious death eater known as Bellatrix Lestrange, Harry and Ron had been dragged into the dungeon, I don't think that I had ever felt more alone " I bit the inside of my cheek to try and avoid the tears threatening to spill "she decided to take a small break as she left me in a pool of my vomit, piss, tears and blood, in that very moment I wanted to die" Alice quickly wrapped her arms around me dry sobbing as I felt tears start to slip down my face "Bellatrixs pinned me down and carved into my wrist"

"Oh Hermione, I am so sorry that you had to go through that" Alice repeatedly kissed my cheek

"How can you say that you don't know what it means," I said through floods of tears

"You can tell me if you want" I could tell Alice was trying to be supportive and I have to admit it was working

"It means dirty blood it is the lowest of the low not worthy of anything and- an- and its what I am" I was sobbing uncontrollably at this point but glad that I gt it of my chest

"You shut up right now Hermione Jean Granger, you are an amazing, talented, beautiful, smart witch don't ever insult yourself like that"

"Terribly sorry princess, I said in my British accent

"And so you should," Alice said acting like a true princess "we should get back it's getting cold"

"Bella is staying at yours and Charlie won't be back till past midnight so we can be as loud as we want" I teased

"That sounds like fun" Alice floated up and started along the path despite not knowing the way.
